We have had better players wanting to leave and we kept them for another 12 months
Yes, Berbatov, Modric, Bale were all better and we managed to keep all for one more season. I imagine that them being better made the club less receptive to bids than for Walker, surely that’s an easy concept to grasp?

Yes, we are weaker without Walker but not to the extent that those players’ departures weakened us.

So? Even if we did somehow convince him to stay for 12 months what would that achieve? He still wants to leave. You need to let it go.

Sometimes I don't know what goes through people's heads when they post on here :D

I find it staggering that Trippier has gone backwards this year, this was the season he was meant to step up...his attacking play which is is strength has actually been non existent.

And yet, for all his non existent attacking, he's still considerably outperforming Walker and Aurier:

Some of you lot don't half talk out of your arses.

According to Pochettino himself, Walker got the hump AFTER he started playing Trippier last season, Pochettino has stated that he liked what Trippier was doing, and felt he'd earned has chance and gave it to him.

Trippier has played no worse in any game I've seen than Aurier has in any of his games. I said this last year, I said this at the start of this year, we play a system that exposes FB's - high line, FB's pushed up, opponents counter into those spaces. Ad to that we have a rooky CB, TA's been out all season and our midfield is in complete disarray.

Aurier got his pants pulled down several times last weekend, by fucking Southampton, but everyone keeps harping on about Trippier's "loss of form" because he got his pants pulled down away at fucking City. Walker has had similar moments for City this year. And did last year for us - eg West fucking Ham that cost us taking our title race to the last two games.

Neither Aurier or Trippier are prefect. And neither is Walker. Trippier is definitely more productive than the other two. The other two are both better defensively than Trippier. But we are talking margins not chasms.

Trippier will do nicely against County on Saturday, thank you. Let's hope that Serge is fit again for United.
Aurier's best game for Spurs IMO this season was against Liverpool & he played at left-back on the day.
Between the two, on the one hand Trippier offers an excellent cross, if.... (and again IMO) he can beat his defender. Let's be honest, he struggles against pacey defenders.
Aurier, on the other hand, is a complete nutter, who is equally capable of the sublime or the absurd. He does relish taking on defenders, though, and has proven that he can get past defenders in the PL.
Spurs are lucky to have them both!
COYS!

Statistics can't tell everything. For example if we look at Dembele's I bet they will be pretty avarage. And I mean last season when he was in form. But we all now that Moussa is/was vital player for us.
What I like about Aurier the most is how he operates the ball, how he makes passes. He is very natural and clever when moving the ball. He has good vision imo. This is something I haven't seen in Walker and don't see in Tripier. This 'naturalness' when it comes to technique. He is very good with both feet.
I think the one aspect he has to work on the most is crossing. If he can sort it out he will be better than Trippier or Walker. Cause now, as you said, none of them is perfect.

its probably worth saying for fairness i'd prefer to actually see some defensive stats, as first and foremost that's there jobs,,, such as, number of tackles a game, intercepts, headers won, successful passes, mistakes = chance for opposition , etc etc

The only top 5 opponent Trippier didn't start was ManU. Two of those were at home (Chelsea, Liverpool) and two away (Arsenal, manC)

I made no comment on who he played, just pointed out that not all premier league teams are equal in response to the person who said "they are all premier league games". I'm actually a Trippier fan.
