I feel he’s worth persevering with as he has a much higher ceiling than Trippier. Physically Serge has all the tools, and has shown flashes of quality going forward but like others have said it’s been too erratic and he has been rash with his defensive decision making. These are areas Poch can improve if he has the right attitude.

I’d sell Trippier while his stock is high, especially as we are veering away from 3 at the back and KWP should duke it out with Aurier

Let’s be honest, he’s been fucking shit and is a complete liability whenever he steps onto the pitch. Got that annoying feature of laughing whenever he screws up too.

You only need to look at his social media account to see he's not a very serious person. Who knows how that transfers over into his professional mentality. It must be ok else Poch wouldnt entertain playing him.

I’m willing to eat humble pie next season if he turns into the right back we all want him to. But based on what I’ve seen upto now. I think he will be sold next summer.

A couple of seasons ago I honestly thought Dembele was on his way out. I thought exactly the same with Son after his first season... I have been proven wrong both times! There is still hope for Aurier....

From his first few appearances for us. He was good on the ball, drove forward, showed some good touches and was exciting. He has pace and some flair. There's a talented footballer there.

From what I've seen, the things holding him back is intelligence on and off the ball, a lack of awareness, and inconsistent delivery. He's like Walker early in his career with us.

I think all of those can be improved upon. But no, let's not support our players and see the potential, let's just do our usual slagging off and cast them aside.
I'm not slagging him, I dont rate him or see potential in him.
I do see potential in KWP so its just a difference of opinion mate.

Happy to give Serge next season to prove himself and for Poch to work his magic, but at the minute he terrified me when he's on the pitch. I thought Sissoko looked awkward with a football but this guy takes it to a new level!

Why should we put up with waiting for all these players to come good year after year? We should expect more of our recruitment team - rather than signing 'opportunities' we should be thoroughly scouting players and bringing in playing staff who are fit for purpose.

Been quite a disappointment and far inferior to Walker even with his brain farts. His sliding tackles and poor crossing leaves me shaking my head. But having said that I think he’s worth persevering for another season to see if he can improve and cut out the silly errors.

...it's not just the heart attack defending and inability to make a proper throw-in - it's the poor positioning, laziness at times, not showing for the ball, sharing no intuitive understanding with the MFs/CBs/AMs, poor crossing, etc., etc.

...I don't rate Trippier either, but Aurier right now is a complete liability and I'm not sure if we have the time to hope he improves while we lose points and trophies...

People really have it in for him... he didn’t even play against City!

Hope he proves them all wrong next season with a proper pre-season under his belt and fully settled.

You should probably email the club and let them know in case they hadn't thought of it.

If a top quality RB is available in the summer then won’t shed any tears. I do think he’ll improve, though, so if there’s no clear upgrade in the summer happy enough for him to
have 1 more season.

We have to get better at fullback, whether we integrate a healthy Rose back in the team or Aurier improves in his second season but we are really missing what Rose and Walker used to give us.

We really miss the shield of Rose Dembele Wanyama Walker. Sanchez would have come in for Dier in the back 3 and we would rotate lamela son dele eriksen kane for the front 3 positions

But Walker left and Rose Dembele Wanyama have had fitness issues

Gonna try hold off any overly harsh criticism of Aurier until at least Christmas next season...if we give him a full preseason and now he has had chance to bed in a little.

To think we nearly sold Sonny after a sub-par first year, I’m sure most of us are glad we didn’t!

Would be good to see what we can get out of Moura and Aurier after a full pre season together. The optimist in me would like to think we could recreate that Walker-Lennon partnership that was deadly a few years back!

Yes. Serge has not had a great debut season, he has been a bit of a loose cannon at times, just needs the support of us all, and let’s not write him off so soon.

If he doesn't improve he'll be the only FB not to do so since Poch arrived. All of them have made huge improvements to their all roud game in a relatively short space of time. Walker and Rose were both awful a lot of the time and now they're often touted as the best in the business. I'd say the one who has not improved a whole bunch is Trippier, but he's only really had a season.

I don’t buy into this Walker and Rose were awful before Poch stuff, tbh.

Agree with what you’re saying in general, though.
