Trippier has been horrid all season in defense. Neither are good enough, but I'll take my chances with Serge over Trippier.

This is the same player that kept Hazard and Perisic silent just last week.

We all need to get used to the idea that sadly, a new RB is nowhere near a priority right now for our transfer department. As much as I agree with a lot of the criticism, Serge is the best we have...

Trippier has not had a good season and I was calling for him to be dropped for a few games as much as anybody but to say that Aurier has justified his position as the best rb we have is frankly farcical. There's a lot of attributes I like about Aurier but he hasn't shown me yet that consistently he should be chosen over Trippier.

Mental how highly rated he is by most non-spurs fans after his performances for England in the summer. People are flabbergasted when I tell them he's dogshit!

If we're in a back 4, I think thats pretty well proven at this point. 3atb theres a discussion to be had.

Aurier had a half decent 45 minutes against Chelsea last week and the same against Inter however you're comparing apples and oranges. Chelsea, nor Inter were not in any way the same in their approach as Arsenal were.

We did to Chelsea what Arsenal did to us, pressed them high, exploited the gaps in their defence and switched the play in the final third constantly. Hazard was not in the game because he was on the whole not given the ball in dangerous areas. Aurier did well in the second half but he wasn't asked too many questions positionally.

Inter again were a completely different opponent, most of Auriers game was spent facing up the pitch defending the space in front of him. Positionally he was not enticed into challenges with runners looking to exploit the space he leaves.

You cannot judge those two games as proof he's the best of our fullbacks.

He didn't keep Hazard quiet. Hazard played in field a lot of Aurier was closer to Alonso most of the time and had Sissoko covering the space behind him. Foyth kept Hazard quiet.

I've spoken my piece. People have made up their minds and thats fine, you all are entitled to your opinion. Aurier in a back 4 all day ever day over Trippier is mine. I think even the fact that Serge has had good games playing at LB should prove his defensive ability over Trippier who Poch has never used on the other side.

I absolutely respect people's differences in opinions but this is absolutely farcical. Firstly I cannot remember a single game at LB where I would say Aurier performed well based on the opposition played. I also think him being played LB and not RB in place of Trippier proves exactly the opposite. Madness ?

KWP should be RB with Aurier backing him up. Aurier was shit today, yes. But honestly, that would have Trippier's best performance this season. Should tell you something.

Thought he looked all over the place in the first twenty minutes but grew into the game. However, he doesn't really excel in any department for me and I think we could do better.

If we want to challenge we need serious upgrades at RB and LB. aurier is no where near good enough

Which makes it all the most bizarre that KWP hasnt been given more minutes.

Best football under Pochettino was with Walker and Rose. Two very fast players that worried every team in the league. "What our opponents' fans are saying about us" thread was mostly about how good they are (Kane was still one or two season wonder). Whole team played and looked better and we had best GD in the league. Liverpool don't beat City in CL without their first choice fullbacks, they are too important. Most teams park the bus against us and anyone is good enough for them but we need better against the likes of Sane, Lacazette, Salah, Mane etc. And that's just on defensive end, what they are bring offensively is sometimes even more important.
