Is that why you've been playing him so regularly then Poch, to give him a chance to adapt?
Even i know you can't drop Kane to give Soldado more chances. Hopefully he will get some pre-season game time etc to pick his game up. :)

Call it what you want but I have seen enough to know that there is a good player in there. I know I go against popular opinion but I would not mind if we kept him.

Particularly if we can't offload him for more than 10 million pounds as these days, that's the quoted price for any striker who can lace his boots properly.

He's very clearly a good player- talented player

What he isn't is a productive player and I can't see him ever becoming one

He's neither capable of leading the front line in our system nor forming an effective partnership with kane so I can't see him getting a lot of game time where it counts

I think there's a good chance he will stay though because who will realistically pay our demands for him - on the plus side now kane has established himself as number one he probably won't need to play the europa and early rounds of the league cup

Soldado could possibly net a few goals against the weaker teams at that level and it could build his confidence or at least make him a functional member of the squad for those games and allow kane to focus on playing in the more difficult games and spare him from burnout

With kane being number one in a team that plays one up top a striker probably isn't high on our list of priorities so at least one of Soldado or ade will have to be kept even if we bring in a young prospect striker to compete with kane

Really want to see the back of him if I'm honest. Although saying that, if the rest of the team improves in that we get a creative central midfielder or two and direct wingers who will actually get to the byline and put crosses in then we may get some success from him.

If we're to continue to play with no so fast inside wingers and unimaginative central midfielders then I strongly think the outcome will be no different in regards to Soldado's on pitch success.

This whole not getting crosses in, not playing to his strengths, not giving him enough playing time is a load of crap IMO. The issue is he's getting worse; you know it's bad when his better moments stick out in your head because he's just shown nothing else. He can't play as a lone striker and when we have played crosses in for him he's not done anything with them. I must be missing something because I clearly don't see the potential or strengths that others are seeing.

It's sad because I've gone from probably overly patient/defensive with Soldado to the complete opposite this season. Even his sub performances have been anonymous at best. That said, clearly a nice bloke and I wish him all the best, but he doesn't have the attributes for our system.

I was over the moon when we signed Soldado as he was one of the most consistent strikers in La Liga (with a good record in Europe as well). I was prepared to give him time due to his past record.

Unfortunately he's proven to be a massive flop.

I think the way he was managed at the start of his time and the way we played counter productive to his strengths destroyed his confidence, and he has never recovered. I maintain he is a cracking footballer though

I can't wait to see him gone sadly. However, I think levy will slap some dumb ass price tag on him which will mean we won't be able to shift him, or else frighten off interested clubs with endless fannying around during negotiations. Like someone else said, doomed to go the way of Bentley; another casualty of our crazy club.

Any strengths he did have you can discount now because the poor guys confidence is so shot he is doing none of the things that made him one of best strikers in Europe.

When you stand beside Kane you feel small his a big powerful man, Robbie you feel the opposite, his not quick so he has to be very clever. Are spurs good enough for him to shine ? Would we be better with a powerful battering ram with pace ?

The Premier League really isn't for a player who is simply a fox in the box, strikers here have to do so much more.
Soldado isn't the type of striker who can create a goal from nothing,he can't beat a man with his skill, pace or strength......its best for all parties if Soldado returned to Spain.

He is rubbish all this we have to play to his strengths most of his goals in the first season came from penalties I have seen that his movement in the box is shocking his headers are shocking one on ones shocking pace and physicality shocking. I love kane left ,right, headers, outside inside area that is a striker I want not that we have to place the ball in a precise place like when we had defoe. I look at it that we paid 26 mill for kane .

Soldado is like that girl you don't trust but stick with her on the basis that it will be alright... She might be hot, she might be extremely personable, but she ain't no good.

I think that the time has come to draw a line under the whole Soldado episode and admit that he was a poor signing. Granted it was not his fault the club paid big money for him, but his complete and abject failure to adapt, shine, or show any kind of quality is a disappointment of the highest order.

If he's part of our squad next season then we won't be achieving any of our footballing targets for 2015/16.
