I'm a pessimist: I think Levy will want too much money (i.e. >£nil) for any of the clubs who might be interested in Soldado to contemplate in addition to having to pay Bobby's high wages, and so I think we'll be stuck with him next season. If that's the case I'd expect him to finish 2015/16 with less than 10 goals in all competitions. Ugh.
I think this too, or should I say I have thought this (worried about this)

But I think realistically Levy is going to have to bite the bullet on this one

Soldado offers us nothing - we may as well have an academy striker on the bench as have him there

He has to go - he's arguably been our worst ever signing (in fact all things considered I'd say he is personally) and keeping him around only wastes our time and his

Some one in Spain would take him, and he'd do well there I am sure. I also think he would be reasonable with his wage demands just to end his nightmare here and get his career back on track. As you so the one stumbling block is what Levy will be prepared to sell him for. But there's always a loan with a fee back to Spain for example (at this rate he offers zero and won't be missed at all so just needs to be moved on and replaced with someone who can contribute)

We will most definitely be selling both. What's the point in keeping either when they don't play more than 10 mins a month and don't contribute anything. Might aswell put Friedel upfront.

No chance we will start the season with either of them in our squad, I'm willing to put a £10 donotion on the line for that.

what makes you so confident that we will be able to sell both when we have seen in the past how difficult it is to shit players. (especially adebayor)

I think selling both leaves us with a MASSIVE problem. Doing that leaves us with 1 striker meaning we need 2 more. We don't pay the wages that make players move to sit on the bench, what level of forward can we really attract to play second fiddle to Kane? It greatly concerns me.

We are already playing with one striker. Have you even watched us this season?

One of the Spanish Clubs will take him on loan. If he does well enough I'm sure something will be worked out.

I know wages will be an issue but that's something he'll have to think about if he wants resurrect his career properly. I believe he will.

I'm sure clubs in Spain will relish the opportunity to get back a top scorer in their league. The same reason why Torres managed to get back in a team as good as Athletico. Not saying we will get great money for him but we will get something. Also new tv deal might mean someone is able to splash out?

Ade is easily gone. Someone will stump up the cash for him somewhere in the world, either that or we loan him out for the remainder of his contract. Either way, he is gone.

It may well prove difficult to sell both but that's very different from us not wanting to sell both

I am certain we will want to move them both on - neither have contributed anything to our season and we need to get shot of them

I hope Levy is prepared to take a loss, it's just the pay back for poor investments (we can off set that loss but the rise in value of a youth product in Kane)

I think we'll try to sell both, bring in a young striker with pace and an experienced striker who would be functional but not expect to dislodge Kane as the number one choice

We don't need to sign a star striker really, we already have Kane and only play with one up top. So unless we sign someone capable of playing up top or outwide like Remy can for example we will probably just want a player or two who can be used for impact as a sub and take the pressure of Kane and cover him if he gets injured

At the moment we have two strikers who are a waste of space, if Kane was injured using Soldado to cover him would be like playing with 10 men. Levy and Poch surely both know this now, only a fool would think Soldado is magically going to turn things around, he has to go even if we take a considerable loss

There are difficulties getting rid of both, this is for certain but it doesn't mean we won't be actively trying to sell and replace both because frankly we have to (even if it means loans to get some of their wages of the books and free up a space for players who will add something more than nothing to the squad which is want the sum of their respective contributions are now days)

Another point on Soldado, the whole resale thing is a bit of a moot point anyway given his age. We were never going to command a large fee selling him on after a few years- even if he had of performed better the fact that his best days are behind him means a hefty loss was always inevitable. Ok we would of received more, but the margins won't be as significant as many think.

We were paying top dollar for a proven goal scorer - in Spain at least. Its been a disastrous signing, no getting away from that, and that's the real disappointment - so little return for our money. Not the fact that we won't be getting much moving him on, if that makes sense.

So Levy won't be holding out for completely unrealistic figures, its not like he's 23.

Here's the thing, for me.

Soldado has scored more goals than Balotelli this season. He may be older, but he's not a total **** off field, doesn't cause issues, and is completely off the radar of the media aside from the performance issues.

If Soldado is worth nothing, according to some (ironically the same anti-Soldado crowd as norm), then that would make Balotelli worth minus figures.

Reality is, in a world where Danny Graham is worth £5m and Borini is worth £14m, Soldado would still command an £8m+ fee, an absolute bargain for someone like Moyes.

Assuming Soldado would contemplate living in a place like San Sebastian, though.

Poch obviously has an issue with Ade which is a shame because he offers infinitely more than Soldado. This is proven by his goalscoring record compared to Bobby's.

Bobby literally offers nothing now when he comes on, not even link up play or near misses. He can't beat a man, he can't really do anything and he needs to be sold ASAP. Get in 1 proven striker and 1 academy player to partner Kane.

I think between £6-8m is realistic for him

If Levy is willing to accept that then selling him shouldn't be a problem

I don't think anyone thinks he has no resale value - when people say he's worthless I think that's meant as in he's of no functional use to us now. He's a striker who doesn't score goals, he was bought to score goals and he simply doesn't do it. He's useless to us.

He will be much more productive in Spain for between 2-4 more seasons I do not doubt and I think many teams will be interested in him at 8m or less. If Levy wants stupid money for him though we will be stuck with him

I reckon 8m up front, with 2m after appearances and another 2m for goals and achievements. £12m. I reckon a few teams in La Liga could go for that.

He had no issue selling Defoe and Keane for similar money after large fees a few years prior, so I can't see there being an issue this summer.

I do feel sorry for Roberto, as he has kids which will have no doubt settled in England. I think he'd be great again at any other team, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay in the PL with another team

I don't think his kids will mind moving back home - he's only been here two years.

I don't think he'd be a success in m/any other EPL teams, I just don't think he's suited to the league and I think his confidence is shot to shit. I think he can recapture his form back in Spain but that's the only country I realistically see him moving to

Just needs a good pre season. Next season I'm sure he'll score at least 20 goals for us

As for Bobby he needs to go back to sunny Spain asap

i could imagine Fat Sam going for Soldado and Adebayor in the summer, you could just imagine them two upfront there scoring as well. Not sure how desperate they would be with the likes of Sakho, Valencia and Carroll

This exactly!!
By all accounts, seems like a top bloke, is a real professional, never bad mouths the club or any of the players and so obviously has something about him - but he just looks done!

Gutted!! :(

I don't see who would offer any money for him. The best we can hope for is to get his wages off the books, but then its also a case of who can afford those. We might get lucky and some Middle Eastern team for instance might offer him a contract.
Agree but I think we could manage a swap deal with a Spanish club, Veitto has a release clause that is around £15m so I can see a possible swap deal there

Yes I meant to add that, the only other option would be if there was a swap to be done.

He isn't good enough for barca, real or Athletico..

Isn't Basque..

That leaves Valencia, Sociedad or Sevilla ..

All the others couldn't afford his wages...
