You must have just missed the posts. To save you going in and using search function, he is a very good one.

At u16s, he was Vieira like when he played in his own age group, and would carry the ball with good pace from defence to attack, and hold players off. He is the most Dembele like in my eyes of all our Dembele lites in the academy.

When he played up, for England and since he has come into the u18s he has been a lot more reserved. He holds more. Not mopping up but knitting play. Take the ball in tight spaces hold people off, do his little turn to keep the ball and pass a player then move the ball on. He still can dribble when he wants to and he can still carry it past players, but I don't know why we don't see it as much. Maybe as he has good players around him so doesn't feel he needs to, may be down to instruction, but it is something I'd like to see more of. Another player he somewhat reminds me of is Bentaleb, when Bentaleb would take the ball under pressure feint, someone and be able to turn out of it.

Another thing TOB has going for him is he can play on the wing if he wants, and he does it to good affect. This is another reason I'd say he's Dembele like. He has pace and strength, and decent dribbling, but because he can do his feints and turns to he has enough to beat people on the wing, and so it may actually be an easier route to the first team for him. He isn't a get to the by line winger, like I say he is like Dembelelite. Short passing good. Long passing and creativity is average but that's not his role. He excels in CM and I guess a testament to his ability. I think for 95% of keen England youth watchers he would start in the midfield 2 or in his England age group's best side at full strength. If you don't know that team or haven't seen them, I can only say that is a massive compliment. I'm very excited with this kids potential BUT not to end on a low note, his first year as a scholar was not as good as I thought it'd be. However, I've seen enough for last 3/4 years to know he is class and he was excellent for England this year. I want to see more of him next year before I start calling for him to get chances for our first team. If he was in another club he would be in a different situation. The fact he went on preseason is great, I can't remember anyone going after a first year (Dinzeyi is the only other), but looking at the other youth players it may not mean a whole lot, though he has got on both times. Hopefully he is a great year this year, then I may start expecting some first minutes or first team squad intergration after.

Thank you for this excellently informative post! :)

He sounds very promising, do you think more so than Onomah as he's also drawn the Dembele comparisons?

I can get enough stick all on my own thank you
.
It is an impossible dream but I'll make do with 7/8 at a time
In the meantime try not to block the youngsters coming through
with meh, agent inspired expensive signings.
We've been linked with a score or more this window.
Now Conte with a Sugar Daddy with pockets full
of ripped off Russian oil money is on our case.

Love seeing this young team building, improving and growing together.
Been watching for over 60 years and never been so happy following Spurs.
Now another half a dozen possibles to follow Kane and Winks.
(Anyone under 21 on signing I count as 'honorary' Spurs
so that gives me Dele, Eriksen( almost) Rose and Davies.)

Why did i read that like a poem? o_O

Hard to say if more so than Onomah. I always say once, I believe a player is good enough to play for our first team in the future, its hard and almost pointless to speculate who will be better, as there are so many variables. The fact that they have shown that ability and potential is enough. Either one of them could go onto be World Class or they could both just end up being squad players.

You're all wrong. It's Levy's doing. Apparently he isn't happy that all the popular players' names that people have been getting on their shirts are so short... Bale, King , Kane, Dele, Son etc. This is losing valuable income from the cost-per-letter market. So as part of the long-term academy plan we're now signing up as many kids with long names as possible.

This is also why we haven't signed anyone yet this year. What's the worth of a Lemar or a Barkley when you might find a Fotheringham-Bigglesmith or a Van Kwitalongghollandicname?

In a few years we could have the most double barrel surname players, in our first team, in the history of football.

It's not just us. I was watching the England U-19' at the Euro's and almost the entire squad was double barrelled.

Makes you wonder if the next generation after this will all be quad barrelled? Where does it end?

With him.

Leone Sextus Denys Oswolf Fraudatifilius Tollemache-Tollemache de Orellana Plantagenet Tollemache-Tollemache. Died of flu in the trenches a hundred years ago, but hasn't been bettered since for absurd nomenclature, even by the young Rees-Moggs.

If I remember correctly we played an u18s game once where our back 4 was

Kyle Walker-Peters, Channing Campbell-Young, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kane Vincent-Young

Interesting group of names. Both FBs have 4 letter first names beginning with K end in E. 2 CBs are CC, 2 Youngs etc.
We did indeed - West Ham away a couple of seasons back at Little Heath, I was at that game. Think one started on the bench and came on in the second half. Never been a more satisfying sub!

Very impressive. He's playing against younger and therefore less physically developed players but his strength on the ball on that video really stands out.

Would be keen to see more of him. Almost a shame that we're in the Champions League and in particular with such a tough group as it would have been a good opportunity to give him game time with the first team in the easy games in the Europa League group stages. Hopefully we get a favourable League Cup draw and we've got

The sort of thing that might keep me up late at night. If I had a thing for letters. A serious thing that impacted on my daily life
