That the deal is done and just waiting to announce.
where did he say that? the last thing he posted in the toby thread doesent look like neither itk nor that the deal is done:
Chill out on Toby if he is fit he would play if he signs a new contract he does if he doesn't its time to sell
Daniel will only bend but not break over his wage if he was demanding to much there wouldn't even be an on going conversation.
We can't be that far off in my opinion

Maybe my bad. There is a post on page 2 of Response to Alderweireld leaving thread that states the following...

whitestreakSC Supporter
There could be another option, Potentially, pick up de vrie on a free, and swap Toby for either Rashford or Martial, Jose likes a swap deal and whilst that maybe heresy to some on here, that may not be such a bad deal for us .... if Toby was to leave anyway? Just throwing it out there

Meanwhile earlier tonight, on COYS Atlanta Yid (ITK) over there, reckons Toby has already signed, new contract and it is still to be announced!

Edit: I don't visit that site, so can't really comment on validation, merely repeating a message already posted on SC. (y)

One of the world's best defenders currently? No, we can all see that's not true.

He isn't back to what he was yet. He may never be. Poch's comments concerning his recovery and slow introduction indicated this was a career-threatening injury.

If we can get someone to pay premium for prior Toby while getting current Toby, why would we not want that?

So quick to write him off... we've seen a number of other players who were apparently ready for the knacker's yard but were simply not Poch match fit after injuries.

I know people are trying to deflect and see the positives given it sounds like he might be off, but to reiterate he's been a great player for us since he arrived and its rather revisionist to now suggest we won't be weakened by selling just because he's had a couple of ropey performances when he's clearly not fully fit.

Lest we forget he injured himself while we were dicking on Real Madrid.

Whatever we think of Levy NO WAY in hell is he going to allow another Campbell situation to arise. IF Toby hasn’t signed a new contract by the end of the season I fully expect him to be sold for a huge fee with every penny of the fee reinvented into the playing squad.
No one and I repeat NO ONE knows what’s going on regarding his contract situation apart from him, his agent & the very high hierarchy at our club. Let’s stop reading too much into what we’re reading on social media or the dreamers masquerading as supposed ITK.

This thread is already rife with people who have already started figuratively tearing down the anti-Eurasia banners and replacing them with anti-Eastasia banners as if the change had never taken place at all, and we don't even know if Toby will go yet. If he does go this summer a fair chunk of SC will be making out like he was Ramon Vega come next season kicking off.

"The thing that impressed Winston in looking back was that the speaker had switched from one line to the other actually in mid-sentence, not only without a pause, but without even breaking the syntax."

Fuck off with your anti Eurasure bull shit. East asia is great too.

I couldn't agree more. He is one of the Best CBs in the world and forms one of the best pairings in the world with Vertonghen.

Let me make this clear. Under no circumstances should we be selling him in the summer. And absolutely not to Man United, Liverpool, City, Chelsea or any lower premier league teams (arsenal purposely left in that group...) as this would be worse than selling Carrick, Berbatov, Sheringham, Walker for strengthening rivals.

He is more needed, and would be more influential to any of those clubs, at this point in time, than any of those we've previously sold in their respective eras.

Keep him at all costs.

If we sold him I’m actually really not sure we’d need to buy anyone depending on Dier. If Dier was prepared to play CB and Sanchez and foyth fulfill their potential I’d say we were fine. You also have davies as cover and possibly Ccv to take up the foyth role. Honestly believe Dier could be a top top CB if he focused on that position. Also with the Diawara DM rumours would make sense.
Doesn't Pochettino go into detail about how he's going to make Dier the best English CB in Ballbag's book?

Cheers. Hope he's right but considering where his info comes from, I would have thought others would have heard about this first or at least as well.

Have to agree. As stated, I haven't even seen Atlanta Yid's post on COYS, so can't even debate whether I feel it has been lost in translation.

@whitestreak ...certainly not a slight on your good self.

Milan paid 35m for 30 year old Bonucci.

Milan are not the force they once were. Hence their high spending, could not see Toby going there at all.

PSG could possibly pay up but they prefer sexy Brazilian names. Bayern are too busy snapping up the best bundesliga players for peanuts and Juve don't pay massive wages. Barca or Madrid could but would they actually want him. Not too sure.

Wasn't he also involved in the Man u goal that cost us 2 point's !

I’d argue as well he could have done much better on Burnley equaliser,or could say Sanchez extra pace would have got to wood. Anyway I’d have to say after the interview on vertonghen Sanchez and foyth to me it sounds 80% he is gone.

It wouldn't be the same as Campbell as we would still recieve £25m for a then 30 year old. The only issue is he could pick his club which would most likely be City, United or even Liverpool.

We are comparing Toby at a 100% fit Toby and that he ain’t! I think if he is or could be 100% again neither Poch or Levy will want to let him go, especially to a rival. However if this injury is dodgy, and a hard contract negotiation looming I can see us trying to count out losses.

How many games have we lost without him? We have options, have a rising reputation, a good manager, a young side, an awesome new stadium on the horizon and a bright future.

From what I've read I believe that:

The contract runs until June 2019 with the club having the option to extend it for a further year (unsure of exact stipulations...can anyone clarify?), which then activates a release clause of £25 million in 2 weeks of the transfer window as the contract runs out. (If this is wrong, someone please correct me)

Now...at that stage Toby will be 30 years old (in 2 years and 4 months time), he signed for what, £11.5m? His next contract will likely be the last one of his career and (all being well!) Spurs will have progressed more during this period with everyone else already having agreed to extensions and seeming to have belief in the project. With a clause of £25m, he'll get offers from fucking everywhere.

Look at Toby's career, he has played a lot of places and hasn't ever really behaved unprofessionally...at this point I wouldn't begrudge him leaving at that stage of his career to try pastures new (although specifically, not staying in England!) and get a mega wage contract to ensure a comfortable future for him and his family. I've read he wants to go back to Ajax at some point, my hope is that maybe he has an idea of somewhere he'd like to go before that.

He has been a great player for us and we have offered him money comparable to the other squad members who have signed new deals relatively recently, IF he turns the new deal down and wants to see his contract out until Summer 2019 out AND behaves professionally and won't play up etc., then I would be happy to let him do so tbh.

IMO Both parties (Spurs and Toby) are in a great position with this situation...we only have one irreplaceable player, and it's not Toby!

Yeah and that 'irreplaceable' player has said he'll stay as long as we keep our best players, Toby is one of them.

According to an article with Poch speaking about Verts on Daily Mail site, Toby couldn’t finish training on Thursday. Sounds like he’s still not 100% fit.
Maybe he's not 100% 'Poch fit' but believes that he is fit enough himself and this is causing some disagreements which in turn isn't helping the contract situation.

I'll be gutted to lose him, especially if he went to another prem team. However I do believe we are in a very strong position regarding replacements and prospects. Only time will tell on how much of a blow it would be.
