Really disheartening to have the best defense in the world in 16/17 (IMO) be slowly torn apart. Now the same is happening to our attack with Eriksen likely to be off.

edit: @RichieS was literally typing my post while you wrote that haha

There is a lot more to the Toby story than you guys will ever know which sounds inflammatory but put it this way, I dont expect him to be at the club next season and if he gets a new contract then i dont expect Poch to be there....

Dayaaaaaaaaaam!

There be some serious BEEFAGE!!

Toby, Eriksen & Dembele all being off in a 6 month time frame is going to be fucking brutal to bounce back from. I don't see how we could even get back to how good we were and we still couldn't win any trophies with them...

So it sounds like he’s burnt his bridges but is simply too good not to play. Suspect Eriksen will be following him out the door this summer.

Some rebuild job ahead.

No notions about Eriksen, but Sanchez is now getting close to Alderweireld's standard.

And I expect Foyth next season to be about where Sanchez was last season.

We've had Alderweireld's best years. There are replacements already on board, plus the prospect of spending, as we did on Sanchez, when the opportunity to get value and youth is there.

Yup. Was listening to the Fighting Cock podcast this evening and they were all talking about how close we are to a trophy and that next season, lads, believe.....

But it ain't gonna happen with the Great Dane and Toby Hair Gel going unless we spend like Liverpool. Which we won't.

*sigh*

We need to invest in decent, promising, hungry players in their early twenties and be prepared to meet the associated fees as well

Personally we know that we need new full backs too and a CM maybe 2- Eriksen is replaceable as are the full backs.

I love Sanchez as a young developing player, but he’s not remotely close to Toby’s standard yet-he’s not consistent enough for a start

with good players being worked on- in saying that we had an agreed deal for De Jong last summer only for his #***** agent to renege at the 11th hour! We had Pulisic at the training ground for 2 days in January only for Chelsea to do their usual on us on money.

How much will we make from those sales? £25m for Toby, £60-70m for Eriksen? Plus the £11m for Dembélé and odds and sods from other departures. There's going to be a not inconsiderable amount to be chucked back in and the core of the squad is stronger than last time we needed a significant refresh.

The fullbacks are no doubt replaceable and I think theres very good candidates for those slots. So glad to hear that the club is talking about that. Eriksen and Toby leaving really scares me but I know there are players out there that can offset those losses.

If we lose Eriksen for 75mil but can bring in Berge, Lozano & Fornals with that money I think we can come out ahead. But those are probably dreams.

Mate Sanchez is far far away from Toby standard. He’s closer to foyth than Toby

or buy N'Dombele which we also thought we were close to last summer until Aulas went and slapped a 75M price on him

It's all dependent on how we may invest. I don't believe we can't still reach high levels of play. We've been playing the majority of this season with a makeshift central midfield partnership, underperforming fullbacks and a load of injuries throughout. We could have a much better balanced side than what we have now IMO and we're currently sitting third still. Vertonghen + Sanchez is still a fail solid partnership and there's still a lot of ability in the team with Son, Dele and Kane in particular.

I'm not actually worried about players leaving, even Eriksen. I trust Poch to keep us at a high level if he has the right tools. I'm just worried about our potential inability to bring in players of quality.
