Put this into perspective; citeh offering exact wages wecare offering, slightly more, which we would match. No clauses on either offers. Yanited have not offered, or hinted at doing so. The Spanish giants offering him similar also. PSG, have offered, but NOT 200k, but much less.

Jamie Redknapp! Get your farking facts right!!!

Presumably we wouldn't accept a bid from another English club?

So it’s not necessarily about money then. He justs wants out to try and win some silverware?

@Hercules has pretty much said that all along. He's getting old (Toby not Herc) and wants a shot of silverware.

Can't say I blame him tbh. Same with Walker, which is why I thought the booing he received at Wembley was out of order.

Unfortunately it's a theme I can see repeated. I know needing to win things to stop our best players leaving is a tedious narrative, but it doesn't make it any less true.

Needing to win things is a bogus narrative. Paying them will stop them leaving. How many top players left United after Fergie? None, because they were coining it in.

Of course paying them big money helps, but you're conveniently forgetting that most of those top players you referred to had already won trophies in their career and were at one of the top five clubs in the world.

there is Paying them AND having a very good chance of winning silverware, or there is the Spurs way.

Surely we will wait till after World Cup. Imagine if Belgium win which is a distinct possibility and we’ve broken up the World Cup winning partnership. We would look bloody stupid.

not super on topic but i hope that for those at the club monitoring this site there is a realization that there is deep support for Poch

I could understand people leaving to win things when we werent competitive, for example when Teddy left us. But someone leaving a team that finished second last year under the guise of wanting to win things shows a lack of willingness to stand up and be counted. Be the change you want to happen Toby, stay at Spurs and help us win the trophies you crave.

The additional point people seem to be missing here is that the reason players think they have a better chance of winning things at other clubs is because they begin every summer window with the aim of winning the league next season. They go out and try to sign the best players available in the areas they are weak.

We do not do this, which is why Toby will believe he has a better chance of winning things at Man City for example. It may not be necessarily true but the players believe it.

When we sell Toby to City in the summer we may as we raise the white flag on a title challenge.

I wish you would stop with the negativity if I am honest you don't post anything positive at all and haven't done during our succesfull period of the last 3 months.

You have only appeared during the last two weeks which isn't a coincedence ... I find your very purposful outlook tiresome and if it wasn't so obvious I personally wouldn't be commenting.

You're a wum and I will continue to maintain this until you prove otherwise.

On the subject of Toby - it's about the money because if it was about the fight to win things he'd be staying here. Only one team can win the league/the cups and all you can do is compete.

People just post negative shit when we lose because they can't handle a loss.

You are wrong - I post pretty consistently here.

As covered above by Hercules...we are offering the same wages as others so it's not about money.

It's about maximising your chance of winning things.

People need to think more constructively about what it is we need to do to improve rather than focus on copping out with excuses about other teams having more money than us...we know that already.

To start with our fullbacks and CM are now not good enough and need improving and we need to keep our best players. If we can't/won't do these things we won't compete. Our current players know this and will look to leave if that's the case.

I don't mind the constructive stuff, it's always interesting when healthy debate opens up, I mean there are a small set of posters that only ever appear here after one or two results that go against the grain. The same poster I quoted only appeared last year after the loss to Chelsea, same this year.

It's pretty apparent and like I said, constructive genuine criticism is welcome, it's what message boards are about, being a perma WUM ruins the flow.

Toby is moving for the money, just my onions.

I haven't seen us not trying to keep our best players to be honest.

The rest of your piece can be filed under the heading 'Money' it all comes down to it.

I'll let the window open and see if Poch is backed before I make judgement on not wanting to improve the team in those places you mentioned. IDD that they need improving/strengthening especially the FB/WBs.

Toby is gone to my mind unless something miraculous happens, which is doubtful. Every player is more than welcome to cash in and Toby is doing that now. Good luck to him.

What annoys me is that Toby may well want to leave, but that shouldn’t stop us playing him until he does. I believe he is a top professional who would still give his all right up to moment he is sold.

We did the same thing with Walker last season around the same time and it cost us against Chelsea. We are not the first team to have players who have desire to move elsewhere, such as Costa, Coutinho, Mahrez, and they still performed or are performing for their clubs.
