Article in the Sun saying he's willing to accept a 100k a week offer to stay, gonna presume that's not true?

We have heard talk from ITKs that he’s come back with his tail between his legs but we’re not having it. Could well be true.

If by any chance that is true then we should go with it. Spend the money on more pressing needs.

Mostly a made up article though.

Isnt our offer bonus related. Will he get the full 120k or will he have to earn it through bonuses
He had an offer on the table since last August in excess of 100k fairly sure the bonuses were on top of that but not massive numbers as is the case with others.

If we can't get De Ligt or someone of equal quality/promise, then signing him on 'tail between his legs' wages wouldn't be the worst idea. Depends what he did and how he acted though I guess. Herc said it would come out eventually. If he's been a misguided twat then last season would have been an eye opener for him. If he was genuinely a dickhead of his own accord then sadly he has to go

I'd happily accept him back into the fold. He never seemingly caused problems during this and he's quite simply the best defender in the league. And yes, Jan lovers, I do think that.

I love Jan as much as anyone, and along with Eriksen, he was my player of the year. He was truly immense. But he did drop from his usual standard before Toby arrived and I think that really gave him the push he needed to reach the level he is at now.

There seems to be a bit of selective memory going on with some in regards to Toby I feel because in my mind he is the best defender we've had since Ledley. There is an amazing calmness that comes over me when I know he is marshaling the defence (don't come back at me with last season cos it was a write off for him), and the thought of a proper back 3 of him, Jan, and Dav would just be unbelievable.

Herc's ITK seemed to imply that Toby had well and truly overstepped the mark which sounds very ominous. However, he's a top drawer defender and organizer and if we could get him back onside I'd be all over it. Would give us the funds to raise the bar with a top quality CM acquisition.

I remember early in season sitting there watching him at Wembley vs Dortmund, we had three at the back, they complimented each other so well, and I was thinking is Toby best centre back I’ve seen in my years as a spurs fan?( of course I quickly remembered a certain king! And Jan is not to shabby)
But point being I think his time on sideline has let us forget to quickly just how good this guy is.
IF this is true about him having a change of heart (seems unlikely) but I keep reading about burning bridges but this is at a board room level surely? With regards Poch, way I see it Poch has made his point with him end of this season, now if Toby wants to stay Poch needs to move on for good of team on the pitch.
Has he fallen out with his team mates? No. Has he at any point publicly brought embarrassment to our clubs name? No.

We always seem to offload a top player to buy a top player, If we have aspirations of being the best we need to keep the best surely and add real quality to that.
based on footballing reasons which it should be based on, every effort should still be made to keep him.

Our first choice is for both parties to agree a contract if Toby and Spurs can come to an agreement he should stay then we can concentrate on other position . Toby staying at spurs is a great thing

The problem is I think even Poch is on board the Sanchez train now. He would have lost faith in Toby and Sanchez has so much potential (and recovery pace, which was the big weakness of the Jan/Toby partnership, as awesome as it was). If we play a back 4 I could see Poch choosing Davinson over Toby. I get why fans would like him to stay, I'd take it too, but I think those clinging on are not considering these things.

Wouldn't surprise me if Poch wants to swap him for Martial (and hopefully bring in De Ligt).

We look prepared to give Rose another season here, so why not Toby? Slagging of your club in public is way worse than moving goalposts surely?

i wonder what will happen if he picks up another injury in WC which leaves him out after the transfer window closes:X3:

Same could be said of any player, although in Toby's case I'd think extra portions of humble pie would be on the menu.

If he'd take £100-120k from us now surely he'd also take that from Utd? Guess the issue is the fee and the mooted swap.

If he could rebuild his bridges and commit himself to the team again, as Rose has seemingly done, that would be two massive signings for next season and more time and money to invest in other areas. I can't see him staying, but if he changes his mind about the wages or we find some middle ground and Poch is happy for him to stay, I'd welcome it.

He’s not gone until he’s gone but if he’s been a bellend and burnt his bridges then I suspect he will go.

Can't help feeling that any issues would be between Toby (or more likely his advisors) and Levy. I doubt he's had any kind of falling out with Poch. I don't think we would have seen him anywhere near the team if things had truly broken down between the two of them. If that's true then the door remains open for him to return, which would be great. Rose too!
