Can anyone actually recall which games we played with Vertonghen, Sanchez, and Toby? I know it was for a good 2-3 months but I'm just trying to see if anyone can pull the record with those three. I know we played Dortmund at home, the Liverpool game where we smashed them at Wembley, both Madrid games. I also have no doubt if Toby is fit for the Juve tie, we can go those 3 in the back and after going 1-0 up at home just shut the game down and we're on to the next round.

Going back and doing some research, the only game we lost in the league in the stretch when Davinson came in the starting line up and when Toby got hurt on November 1st was the Man U game where we didn't actually play those three. Only ties were against Swansea and Real madrid.

hands down i would keep toby unless it affects the dressing room.

toby jan sanchez de ligt for a 3 CB rotation is amazing. people often forget what if 1 of our LB gets a season ending injury suddenly vert has to cover left. if 1 cb gets a season ending injury suddenly we are fucked.

We're not buying de Ligt if Toby is still here.

Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United transfer talks deadlocked as Tottenham demand more than £55m

Negotiations between Manchester United and Tottenham over a deal for Toby Alderweireld have reached an impasse.

Jose Mourinho remains confident he can sign the Spurs centre-half Toby Alderweireld but talks are deadlocked with Spurs asking for in excess of the £55m fee United thought would seal the deal.

United's position is strengthened by the fact Spurs are keen on Anthony Martial, who has become unsettled at Old Trafford under manager Mourinho.

Martial made just 18 League starts last term and Tottenham's interest could help the clubs reach a compromise.

United are already prepared to hand Alderweireld a five-year contract and a salary far in excess of Tottenham’s last offer of around £120,000 a week.

Spurs are ready to sell the 29-year-old Belgium star for the right price. His contract expires in 2020 but the defender can leave for just £25m next year if no fresh terms are agreed.

Lots of talk about big ‘offers’ for Toby Alderweireld, but as it looks now, his future will be sorted after the World Cup. #thfc #mufc

From Kristof Terreur, the UK-based Belgian Journo that is close to their players in the PL.

Reckon this is all being put on ice for a while.

I know Poch prefers players to be 100%loyal but can't we make just one exception? There's no scenario we end up with the better deal if we allow Toby to go considering De ligt is off and Martial is looking unlikely.

It's not about the deal, It's about setting an example to others if they start fucking around with Poch and contract offers.
The first exception leads to the second exception etc.
It's short term pain for long term gain if you're able to look at the bigger picture, and past the short term picture of 'will we be stronger next season'.

Is there any way, any way at all, that Toby could be forgiven?

What if he wrote a formal letter of apology to Poch?

Or cleaned the lads' boots for a whole season?

Seriously though, are bridges ever totally 'burnt'?

Honestly think Poch at this point would prefer to play Jan and Davinson in a 2 than Jan and Toby, and that’s probably contributed heavily to our cooled interest in renewing him.
