Said it in the WC Thread, but if Toby goes I'd love to see use get Yerry Mina in

Sanchez and Mina at the back would be terrifying

PS I'd be funny watching Danny Rose barging through Mina, Sanchez, Dembele and Victor to get into a ruckus with the opposition. Like that scene with the Yardies at the end of Lock Stock

Barca only paid 9 mill for Mina in January this year

and he’s apparently available after failing to flatter. He’s really not that good... eats everything in the air but if you run at him he’s like a rabbit in headlights.

He is a big lumbering shithouse but who is going to meet that release clause? I’d say 30m tops.

Or because they have too many non-EU players.

@Lilbaz wanted to carry it over here to get back on track on Pulisic. Isn't the story we've been told though that this is Levy pushing this with Poch giving the ok? That Toby has come back to Earth on his numbers on his contract and would be willing to sign.

I dunno. I'd happily give him a new contract.

I had remembered some info from Hercules or Trix that they had changed their tune and wanted to come back and negotiate.

I also think this situation has effected the way people think of him as a player and due to him being out at his best since November people have forgotten a bit just how good he really is. With him healthy we have the two best CBs in the league, adding Sanchez to that made us just rock solid at the back.

I'm of the opinion we should add a top notch badass CM, a backup forward and I think we are set to compete on all fronts again next season. Selling Dembele, Sissoko, Llorente, Janssen, Nkoudou and maybe a RB should be plenty to fund these acquisitions.

People know how good he is, i think they're just resigned to the fact he's probably going so want to make the best of a bad situation.

I understand, I just wish we could have seen more of those 3 play together. Dropping Eriksen into the Dembele spot in that formation and having some combo of Dele/Lucas/Lamela/Son behind Kane is our best team.

This is the heart of the matter, isn’t it? We lose Toby and reinvest but that takes a couple of years before fruition takes us to the next level.
Or we keep Toby, get two or three years of him at his prime then look to bring someone in to replace him but this could take a couple of years too before we have a central defensive pairing at that same quality. By which time Jan is waning too. It’s so tricky but I’d flog him, bring in De Light and get him ready for the next year or so. If Toby was say 27, it would be a no brainier but he’s not. And while Sanchez isn’t his level yet, he stepped up in his first year with us
Wanted to bring this over here. My thing is as I stated in a previous post is that we already have Sanchez, Foyth and Dier as younger players for the future at CB. I know its an incredibly tricky situation with the ages and values and at the end of the day it is a business. Just with me being a fan and how our team is constructed to win now and are setup for the future at the position anyways I would like to keep Toby. I can't really imagine De Ligts value getting higher than 50 million right? Who is buying 60 and 70 mil players from the Eredivisie? Eventually those values cap in those certain situations. Is this going to be the only summer in the next couple years that we'll have money to spend on a top CB? Surely we aren't going to go from spending potentially 150mil this summer to 50mil the next couple unless we don't think we have needs.

The drawback of playing Ericksen in a deeper position is that his goal-scoring chances are diminished.

Dele and Son offer plenty of goal scoring while we can allow Eriksen to pull the strings. Also having 5 defenders on the field plus a defensive midfielder allows him to get up the field a decent amount.

Well having watched the game yesterday, I really want Toby too stay. I would like to think that there must be some middle ground whereby the club and Toby can sought out their differences. I don't expect the club to give in unless too much water has gone under the bridge.
