Good that he and Poch are back talking. I’d be pleased to keep him and not see him at ManUSA. After all the supposed bad blood we’ve been hearing at various levels it feels like a long way back though. Especially for his dadagent based on various previous ITK.

If I were Levy I’d want the dadagent banned from further conversations and for Toby to prove to him and Poch that he’s going to get proper representation.

At this point my mind drifts to proving loyalty in a final test like getting into Kingsman or the Treadstone programmes but I’ve probably had too much sun...

He said it was unjustified that he wasn't starting.

That is how every newspaper reported it but i'm 99% sure the actual quote from him was ''i want to prove it was unjustified'' which to me is a much less aggressive quote - i.e i was dropped,i didn't think i should have been dropped, and now i want to play really well to prove i should have been playing last season.

I think we should keep hold of him. It was only a bit of crack, and those kids really enjoyed it.

if everything we've been told is true I expect he will be sold close to the deadline for less than we want. it appears to be the best possible outcome from a range of bad outcomes.

Zaha over Son is funny, but Sissoko for 15 mil is funnier.

Demeble is staying and I think Sissoko will stay also as Poch seems to like him.

Expect Nkoudu Jansen and Llorente to leave

Grelish Gomes and Zaha coming in would be awsome but unlikely

Wonder when these crunch talks will happen, hopefully before the WC players are due back after the US tour. Feel like this situation is holding a lot of things up. Seems Martial is top target and we can't fully write that off until Toby's future is settled. Problem is that dragging it to the last week makes getting a top CB replacement difficult. It also means trying to get someone like Zaha if Martial fails will be extremely difficult as Palace would have no time to spend the money on replacements.

Although if we get a top CM like Kovacic I can take or leave a new attacker anyway. Still have hopes for Lucas and a fit Lamela to contribute.

Levy needs to get Poch and Toby to thrash it out over facetime.

If he doesn't and we have to sell him, I'd flog him to Bayern for £30m-£35m to stop Man U getting him this summer or next if they aren't prepared to play ball over Martial.

Doing that would also increase our chances of getting Pavard in as well as it seems like Bayern are closely monitoring how he could do alongside Sule for the next wave of Bavarian dominance in Deutschland

If BM don't up his salary he won't go there and he is still in contract at Spurs.

Do Bayern want him? Does he want Bayern? Can Bayern offer him the wage he wants? Will Bayern pay the fee? It's not easy to just "Sell him abroad".

Very good point. Just had a look at even though it's a website and nothing should be taken as verbatim it seems they pay Lewandowski c225000 per week as their top earner, with Hummels who I'd regard as the closest thing to Toby that they have in their ranks c125000.

I think that unless Toby is still playing silly buggers and doesn't think upping his wage by a substantial amount like that is a good deal a shame he approaches his 30th birthday this coming season then there's the possibility of a deal being struck. It all comes down to how ridiculous Man U could be prepared to go salary wise for him next summer though if he takes their word for it and both him and Man U are prepared to hold off

The same surely applies to Munich regarding Martial then. Nothing is certain of course and there's variables that we never know about that cause ripple effects in the transfer window but if we offered them the chance to sign Alderweireld for £30m when we are suggesting £50m to Man U, surely a team as big as Bayern Munich who seem to be interested in signing a centre back soon would take note and at least consider that a good deal

It's wages with Toby that I would imagine is preventing lots of interest. I'm guessing he's seeking at least parity, probably more than VVD's £180k a week being that it was around this time the problems started (I think). 4 year minimum deal say for a 29 year old isn't very appealing to chairman.

Toby's wages would be an issue but if he stays at Spurs this year he'll be 30 by the time his clause kicks in and I'd be shocked if anyone would pay the kind of wages that are in line with Van Dijks for a 30 year old with questionable hamstrings.

Hummels is on 125k per week at Bayern so they do pay a good going rate for defenders in and around Toby's bracket
