No. But make no mistake about it. In Levy's eyes, its all about the money. If it werent, he would sell abroad for less. Instead, he sells Walker and Toby to rivals and strengthens them. We thought we've progressed past it but it is quite clear that we are still in the buy low/sell high no matter to who business.

The thing is, this sets a precedent. People might have thought Walker was a one off, but this is two summers in a row.

Doubt it'll be the last one either.

Levy has a thing for strengthening rivals

To be fair, per multiple itk's, Levy wanted to keep TA and Kyle Walker... it's Poch who wanted them sold.

Levy's job to get what's best for the club. Wouldn't it be Poch's job to instruct him to sell elsewhere... just playing devil's advocate here, rather than culling Daniel for every sale.

Lets not butter it, walker and toby are big losses the last two years. We are still not at the top table, we are an ajax/monaco buy young cheap sell high.

We need to make sure this money goes to good use.
Any confidence that your last sentence will happen ?

We are only get rid of players WE don’t want. (Or rather Poch doesn’t want). I’m fine with that.

I’ve seen on a couple of places that the accepted offer is 60m. I actually think that is a too low fee, if its Man U. If we sell to them Martial need to be included or on par with the world record fee for a CB.

Cant stand the Idea of strengthening those fuckers.

In levy's eyes it's about the long term success and viability of the club. I'm sure he would have preferred to sell Walker and Toby abroad and if suitable offers had come in he would have.

What would you have him do? Two players, bought for £4m (Walker) and £11m (Toby) have been sufficiently developed by Poch (Levy's appointment) and other coaching staff that top clubs are offering £50-60 mill for them. The manager does not want said players as they have burnt their bridges with him.

We have a billion pound stadium to pay for and this money can be given to the manager to invest in players. I know where I'd sell.

Whats the current state of affairs? Is Toby going to United, and are we more likely to get Martial now?

£60m for a 30 year old mercenary who, we've been told, threw his toys out of the cot and then took a dump on Poch? I'll take that all day so long as Poch gets what he wants with the money.

I still cannot understand United's refusal to sell us any of their players, but are quite happy to sell to Chelsea.

The state of affair is Toby gone to manu, we likely not sign anyone bec the market is inflated and agents are liars.... something in that context.?

But how can he go to Man U? All I have seen in the martial thread is that Man U won't do business with us due to Levy! :cautious::cautious:o_O has this all been a lie?!

It's simple. Levy has to cash in this season or risk losing out. IF there are no other suiters his hands are tied.

What's the other option ? Keep a semi-motivated player for another 12 months, probably sat on the bench taking up a squad place, potentially disrupting other players.

I agree, the situation is horrible, but it's very much predictable.

Look, I'm not against selling to united if they offer the right money, but if they won't deal, in regards to Martial them we should not be selling to United regardless of the money they are offering. I've given up all hope they will sign someone that will improve our side this window.
