The Mirror had us agreeing a £60m deal on Saturday and then Utd offering a take it or leave it yesterday.

Between that time they also agreed to sign Yerry Mina and Jerome Boateng.

Personally can't see Levy selling to them for less than £50m. £40m looks like too much of a shafting irrespective of clauses.

It's been a rubbish situation with Toby and this idea we'd rinse Utd was a myth. They held all the power here.
If it allows us to move on and bring in someone using that money then so be it, if we're just spending that on Grealish and that Nowegian player then it's not good enough in my opinion.

Seems people focused on us wanting Martial, but forgetting that everyone knows Toby wants out and has been effectively sidelined by Poch, he won’t sign a contract and has a clause that has us by the balls. Plus we have a history of selling if the price is right.

I’ve thought we had a shit negotiating position from the very start.

We are on the weak side in negotiations but they are also getting desperate, they have been priced out of Maguire, Boateng has apparently rejected them and Mina is a bit meh. Toby is their clear #1 choice and Levy knows it. He also hates dealing with them and is a stubborn bastard.

Everyone is concerned about Toby, what about Jan, easily our best player last season, and correct me if I'm wrong, he has about one year left on his deal. Losing one Belgian would be unfortunate, losing two would be gross negligence. If Toby goes you can expect PSG to come knocking on Jan's door in the next month. It’s a fascinating scenario. We want rid, they desperately want him. They’re running out of alternatives, we’re running out of time. They have something they really don’t want to give us, we’re going to squeeze them even harder if they don’t give us it.
