As a keen classicist (this was my undergrad before I turned to the world of FS law), I particularly appreciated his criticisms of me.
Ah you're an FS lawyer? I'm employment. Never the twain shall meet lol

If Toby is really off to United, it'll be one of the weirder transfers. Obviously, we've heard all the rumors, but he's been super professional about it all, is currently taking green screen photos with the team, and is in training right up until deadline day.

Also, if it's really just £40m, I'd rather either 1. Keep him and take the £15m hit next summer, or 2. Sell him to PSG for a £35-40 after the domestic window closes.

It's not just £15mil, its £!5m plus his wages for a year..

Was. I ended up in the top fs dept in England but sadly was being paid half as much as the associates to do equally complex work and couldn’t impress enough to earn a TC so I lost my drive for it, did what all failed lawyers do and became a recruiter.

Got to work with some ingenious people though, truly remarkable minds.

We sell then who do we have to play 3 at the back when we need or rotate?

You think it's just going to be business as usual if he stays? We just go back to where we were at the beginning of last season before the fall out?

Not going to happen mate.

Do you think Levy has met his match in this scenario then mate? (opinion)

He's definitely got a weaker hand.

Then we're in a shit bargaining position with Utd for Martial. They will surely know this and stoke a few fires themselves, meanning that we will be forced to sell him if the offer is decent enough. Just surprised nobody else is in for him. Unless Martial throws his toys out of the pram and hands in a transfer request then they won't feel obliged to sell him to us, and we'll still have to potentially sell Toby to them. I'm guessing this is how Utd are playing this. I'd rather sell him overseas after the domestic window closes, even if that means making half as much for him. At least the wages will be off the books and Utd don't get to strengthen.

He played this spring, and he'll play this autumn if he's still at the club. Just like Walker played after him and Poch had a falling out. Poch is a professional.

Is there little spat really worth risking Champions League football over? Cause as this team stands, our best bet is 3atb with no other significant additions to the team.

This is why I think Toby going to United will happen. Probably haggling over price a bit but based on what ITK has said over past few months, Poch likely doesn't want him around. Poch is (likely) pissed because Levy hasn't brought anyone in yet and Herc has insinuated that promises made to Poch have been (or will be) broken. So Levy likely doesn't want to upset him even more by saying "here, integrate him back into the team". United probably knows this and also knows Levy won't be able to just hold onto him and take a loss - that's not what Levy does. I would bet the fee won't be above 50 mill and lots will be upset (rightly so if money doesn't get reinvested).

Not saying I agree at all - I think this window continues to be an absolute joke and as we are officially under 24 hours with absolutely nothing happening. Selling Toby to help strengthen a rival will be a huge finger right in the face of Spurs fans.
