Picture the worst possible deal for us and given this window that’s what’ll happen.

The carnage at 5pm will be the stuff of legend.....

I'll have a try...

Grealish signs a new contract first thing.

Rose goes on loan and we spend £20m on Kurzawa.

We sell Toby to Man Utd for £40m and Chris Smalling. Meanwhile Chelsea get Martial in exchange for Willian.

We have a late salvage attempt of the window with Zaha, but end up short of agreeing a fee due to the £20m spent on the pointless LB reshuffle from earlier in the day.

Arsenal despite having a small this budget this summer sign Ousmane Dembele for a future fee of £100m

Turns out Eriksen didn't sign that new deal after all and only has 2 years left, with Madrid seeing him as the heir to ex-Spurs star Modric next summer.

And that's just the things that have been mooted in the media.

ESPN reporting that Utd are willing to include Smalling or Rojo in the Toby deal. What a bunch of jokers....

If true who do they think we are West Ham or Everton!! Trying to plam there off casts on us.

How about we are willing to include Sissoko and Nkoudou in a deal for Martial

Hypothetical here - if United aren't buying him, where does he move too?

I still have a funny feeling that the likes of Barca or Real will come in for Toby next week if we don’t deal with Utd today. He would be a massive upgrade for either team and has a past in Madrid. Either way I don’t see him in a spurs shirt next season so we just need to get as much for him as possible and, like modric, should explore the foreign market even if it comes at a slight loss vs prem money

I honestly feel that if there were other options, he would have already gone.

The only reason we're holding so tight is because it's United, and if we can't use Toby as leverage for Martial we're going to want to get a huge figure for him.

I reckon we'll have to wait and see now. For all the hoopla surrounding him, the fact he is still here on deadline day (in this country at least) says alot.

Leicester agree a fee for a CB. Caglar Soyuncu. Maguire to United?

I do think the Utd board would much rather go for Maguire if Leicester come back to them a bit on price.

Do wonder if they've just accepted Mourinho will be pissed off regardless and don't want to do anything silly like sell Martial of spend big money on players that are around 30.

Toby would improve them more short term (that's what maureen is looking for)

So I'm ok with shipping Toby abroad for less

Bit disappointed that the swap deal never materialised though

I had at a look at the Red Café the other day and there seem to be a fair amount of them that believe Woodward has had enough of Mourinhos absurd spending. Looking at their previous windows no one in their right mind can argue that Mourinho hasn't been backed.

Always thought Toby would replace Kompany at City. If he has to go and went there, that would be so funny just to see Moaner's reaction.

This would be many things but funny isn't one of them
It was a comment on a hypothetical situation. If Toby has to be sold this window and City offered us good money, I would rather he went there on our terms than to United if we didn't get Martial in return. And that would niggle Mourihno as a bonus.

Can live with him going abroad, especially if we're only being offered £40m. Utd have never changed their tune on Martial anyway.

If we don't sell Toby to Utd because they don't give us Martial - that would be something positive this window imo

I was in the 'sell at the right price camp' but I'm inclined to agree. We'd need something very good to offset giving Utd exactly what they need for a deal that would clearly be a compromise.
