The whole situation with Toby is fucking weird.
By far one of the most annoying situations Spurs have been involved in. A world class CB and arguably one of our best ever defensive pairings being broken up in their prime for such a stupid reason.

Everything points to Toby going on a free transfer next year. He said he has a contract and will be here next season.

People are surprised no clubs have come in for him... Clubs would contact his agent, who would give them the low down. Not interested honoring his contract blah blah blah.

If he was leaving he'd be GONE already.

If baldini is flying in to london to negotiate he must think there is a chance. Add to that our bid for saliba (toby money?).

The fact that two of our 'Ajax three' are playing up for a move just makes you love Jan even more. What a man he is.

He might be off next summer.

Would love to see him end his career with us but he has given us seven years service and won nothing, so I'd find it difficult to begrudge him, especially at 33.

The other two have been flashing their knickers at the 'bigger' clubs and come out worse (or so it seems). I've never wanted players who don't want to play for us.

I've stopped believing what the media say. He could be flying to London but for something completely different. If it was Juventus I'd understand but not Roma who don't have CL football. I genuinely believe he'll leave on his terms and most likely on a free transfer.

Why is Son playing connect four on a large tv though?

Is this part of their mental stimulation training.

Reactions. Spot goes dark you hit it. Not really training just monitoring your reaction speed.

Bet Kane (who was standing intently behind watching) went super-competitive and wanted to get a better score than Son!

Might not mean anything, but I can't see Toby (or Eriksen) in these pics from today's training/fitness session:

Eriksen was there, and seems like with a smile too! Saw him in Instagram IGTV of Ndombele working out.

Our offense was pretty poor as well IMO. If Toby goes CB is a must, RB at present is a must as well.

how often did we have a CDM + with Ndombele, he can put a challenge in, as can GLC and Cabellos. If we change formation we are going to need what we are after, hard working players not scared to challenge. Our best defensive season was

Walker - Toby - Dier - Jan Rose/Davies
Wanyama - Dembele
Eriksen - Dele
Kane

if we want to play Son on a regular basis we can't play 5 at the back, even though we did last season, most of the season we never had a full strength XI. Also without Toby I wouldn't play Sanchez in a back 5 unless he was left or right. he had his worst performances in a back 5 and him being the centre of the 3

In the 16/17 season I honestly think we had the best defence in Europe; Lloris, Rose, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Walker with 'Victor the Brick Wall' in front of them.

Toby will be a big loss, but that's football; just need to build again for the future.

Dier made it a back 5

Yeah we played 3 CB'S, a defensive midfielder and a deep lying midfielder who was a physical demon who couldn't be tackled but was allergic to going forward, I'd fucking hope we had the best defence in europe:LOL:
