Hopefully he’ll then be back to his best as he has been way below last seasons standard for virtually off of this season, which is a massive shame.

We need him fully fit as he’s our best defensive midfielder.

Good thing is Vic doesn't have any summer commitments, so he can focus on getting stronger/pain free for next season.

Knee injury during the pre-season. Instead of surgery, the physios and coaches decided to treat with rehab/rest. Seems he's still feeling the effects and will probably have surgery during the summer. I also believe Winks will have ankle surgery to clear up the issue he's been having.
In which case some have made the wrong decision and wasted his whole season.

Not as simple as that,

I have been unlucky enough to endure 3 horrific injuries and I was a pretty good standard footballer, I opted for ankle surgery to have metal work after a nasty break and dislocation at 15 I am now 27 and Im in all sorts of pain when I run and play.

I then done my cruciate 4x in quick succession after reconstruction surgerys I should have wiated and had rehab then had the surgery in both cases.

Sometimes surgery is a quick fix but its not career preserving for a top level athlete as it can cause further problems further down the line and for a pro thats not very good.

Say Big Vic is 25 now? has knee surgery is fine for 2 years needs further surgery after another injury...more scar tissue more damage to nerves etc etc.

Sometimes its better to try and avoid surgery with working on other parts of the body to strenghthen.

There's also the other big thing big vic is a powerful brute loves a tackle the mental aspect of it all can be shattering takes ages to get back to that level of trust in your body.

Im 3 years since my last knee surgery and although I still play at a low level these days i am still horrified of tackles.

A few rumours circling around that we would listen to offers for Victor. Could it be his injury problems? Regardless, I really hope this isn't the case.

Yeah, I saw those too. I've already accepted that we will sell Toby and Rose.

I'd love us to keep Dembele, but would understand if he wanted to move to a less demanding league. Wanyama was the stand out name for me, as surely has so much more to offer us still - he is only 26!

He is also the type of player that Liverpool, Arsenal and even Chelsea are crying out for.

One possibility could be that Poch has seen what City and Liverpool have been doing in midfield, playing without orthodox defensive midfielders, and has decided we need more elusive, and quicker transitioning players in the centre.

At start of season I’d have been well against selling wanyama. But he’s obviously struggled this season. Can he get back to 16/17 form who knows. But a part of me thinks it might be good to have some variety at DM. A more ball playing DM as an option in more one sided games. That player may still be winks or have a feeling foyth will end up DM/CB hybrid like Dier. But if we could get a quality player like say a de Jong I’d be ok with selling vic although would still hurt a bit.

Unless there’s a genuine belief he can’t get back to standards then I’d be shocked if we sold him as he is a Poch player and was outstanding last season.

This season he has mainly been poor though but you’d hope with a summer of recuperation he can get back to the 2016/17 standard.

Just seen the article in question and it says we want £50m. Probably not one to worry about

I'd only consider selling him if Poch can significantly improve this area of the pitch. Otherwise we shouldn't be considering it.

can't see big Vic being sold....too many senior players going already (for understandable reasons): Dembele, Rose, Toby, possibly Trippier, Lorente, Sissoko....there is already a lot of work to be done....best to get Vic fit

It’s worrying we have so many players with long term injury concerns. Rose toby dembele wanyama winks. Lamela seems to have made a miraculous return almost like he was never injured ?. Maybe most of these players will pass a medical but the club feel they have dropped off 10%. But can still get a good price for them based on past form.

No way we should be selling him. Sure he hasn't played as much so might be wanting to move on for more game time. But I think it would be a big mistake. Im sceptical its true anyway.

Tough one, but if we could get say Diawara, or perhaps Kondogbia then I can see the argument.

We need to involve and improve, and certainly being more expansive in midfield would make us better.

Probably not the top item on our list this summer. It will if we can get our price, and sign player X - and also depend on the Dembele situation.
