Don’t we ever learn, Don’t sell your best players!!

Rose and Victor had long injury lay offs no pre season, next season they will be better.

Selling Toby, Danny, Victor, MD who are some of the best players in the league in there positions we will be weaker.

Sell GNK, Jansen, MS, SA they are the weakest links!!

I like Wanyama, I was behind the transfer from before it happened and I would prefer for him to stay. That being said, I also very much believe that we need to shake things up at CM. We are in need for different CM types, and for using that part of the team differently. So I won't begrudge any CM departure this summer because it will bring along possibilities for needed change.

Agree we need to shake things up but I don't think that necessarily has to come at a cost of moving Wanyama. I think Dembele will suffice. To me in games we struggle Wanyama isn't an issue or Dier for that matter it's who's playing next to them. That is the most important spot. Poch obviously prefers to play with at least on true defensive midfielder. We have 2 good ones right now and I can't see that changing. Just doesn't add up.

Maybe. To me, this destroyer role has been found out. It was far less effective all this season than all of last season. When a smart trick is out-smarted, it must be evaluated, no matter how dear or important said trick was in the first place. It's far greater to play one mean destroyer than to play a weak CM, but it can be superior to have two fantastic CMs

I still just can't figure out how this transfer stuff makes any sense for Wanyama. Unless he isn't happy with his role I don't see how it makes any sense to let him go.

I like Wanyama but his limitations are there for all to see, if we're going to win the league he wouldn't be a regular starter, we need more quality.

Just thinking out aloud, perhaps Poch has seen something in one of other players we currently have that they can step into his shoes. Foyth could be a possibility he's good on the ball, knows how to defend so will be able to position him self in the right area. Similar to Dier can step into the back if we want to switch from a 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 without the need to make a sub. Also gives him game time.

Personally i would be disappointed if Wanyama left as he's a beast and offers a solid protection if we need to defend against the better teams.

To sell to a rival would be the most stupid thing!

If we looking to offload big vic then I hope we have lined up Denis Zakaria in Germany (possibly the unlinked cm as per Hercules itk) as he’s perfect and reminds me of a young Viera.

He offers more going forward too and is far agile.

Although not many, I've seen a few whispers about them (Poch & Wanyama) having a bit of a disagreement in training. Something along the lines of saying the wrong thing (example given was along o the lines of "it didn't work at Southampton so why would it work now" ) when Poch was telling them what to do.

Of course, it could be total bullshit, I have no idea. Like you & so many others, I thought Wanyama was Poch's 'go to guy' , so a falling out is perhaps the most logical conclusion to come to? Unless there's a fitness/injury thing we're simply not aware of, of course.

I agree.

I’ll honour my Tottenham contract, vows Wanyama

https://citizentv.co.ke/sports/ill-honour-my-tottenham-contract-vows-wanyama-201445/

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is adamant that he will don the famous white shirt of the Spurs next season, scoffing at reports that he could ditch the North London based club.

At the same time, the former Southampton and Celtic midfielder said that he has withdrawn from Harambee Stars twin friendly matches against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea set for this weekend as he’s still recovering from an injury.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, ‘Big Vic’ as he is fondly known played down speculation and transfer reports linking him with a potential move to his boyhood club Manchester United and Liverpool.

He said: “I have a contract with Tottenham and I’m happy with that. I have not heard any talk of transfers, I am not aware of any and it’s not true.”

The 26-year who joined the North London outfit on 23 June, 2016, on a five-year deal still has three more years on his contract and for now he maintains that his heart and soul is with the Mauricio Pochettino coached side.

Since joining White Hart Lane, the combative defensive midfielder has been a stalwart at the base of midfield featuring prominently for the team except in the ended season where niggling injuries limited him to just 18 appearances.

Yep lots of quotes today that he wants to train hard for next season with us. Doesn’t sound like he’s planning on going anywhere thankfully.

Hopefully recent quotes are true and he isn't sold. We have more than enough things to try and get done before Aug 9th without having to replace him.

That's ignoring fact that season before this he was immense, amount of times he was motm in big games was ridiculous.

I like Dier but a fit Wanyama is better than him, it's short term memory if disagree. I hope he gets fit and sharp over the summer as he makes us a better team.
