Quite curious as to why he's one of the players that's constantly mentioned as being available this summer. The others (Rose, Dembele, Sissoko,Llorente, Alderweireld) are pretty easy to understand. He didn't have a good season, but I felt his injury disrupted everything.
I'd be shocked if he goes anywhere. I haven't seen any credible links and seems like he's a player Poch loves having in the squad.

Yeah I don’t get it either. Unless of course the player wants to move on for more game time of course.

He’s done a Sandro, unfortunately.
Bit early to write him off completely. He had a serious injury and needs time and games to get back to his best. I thought he improved each game he played since his injury.

Would be very surprised if we sold him. Dier and him are two good options as defensive midfielder. It’s the number 8 position that needs our attention. Question marks over Dembele’s fitness, Winks injury problems, Sissoko...

Agree. Fans want players to show loyalty to the team but many of those same fans don't want to give players time to fully recover from serious injuries. Loyalty should work both ways.

I definitely wouldn't sell him because if Dembele goes we need 2 CMs as it is. Same with Wanyama as it is for Aurier and Winks, needs a proper pre-season.

I can’t see him going anywhere, he just picked up an injury in pre season, worsened it by playing when he shouldn’t have been last August, and never got into a rhythm. Only way I see him leaving is if he wants to for more playing time.

Don't be surprised to see Dier playing RCB in a 3 man defence once Toby leaves with Wanyama then becoming our dedicated DMC.

Personally I can't decide what suits us better - having 3 behind Kane or allowing the wingbacks to get real far forward

They get really far forward in both formations. Dier typically drops back into the back 3 when we're playing with a lot of possession anyways so fullbacks can be high up the field.

Talk of possible move not surprising - poor and ponderous last season after his knee injury.
Question really is whether capable of returning to levels of 16/17 when he was a revelation and only those close will know how well he has really recovered.

If we want to play a variant of 3-4-3 / 4-2-3-1 then Pochettino May want another DM who can fill the role of CB like Dier allowing us to switch in Games

Would hate to see this, and I can't see it personally. If so, how much activity are we expecting this summer? Can you see us selling all of the players rumoured to be going? To replace them sufficiently would cost far beyond what we will get.

I can understand about Aurier though. It may be that we'd prefer KWP and Trippier at RB for next season. I'd prefer we kep Winks, Wanyama, Dier and Dembele and add one more quality CM.

Been awhile since we have seen him at his best. On this day he can really make the centre backs job pretty easy.

But his last few outings have been pretty substandard. Play sometimes pass him by... frankly I put it down to him being out for a long period... as a defensive midfielder player u do need to have a good understanding with the rest of the team.

I still think he can get back to be the player we all know and love. Hopefully we will stick with him.

The difference is that in the 4-2-3-1 it's actually a 3 3-3-1 when attacking rather than a 3-4-2-1.

I know that these formations are fluid and don't make much difference in the grand scheme of things but its just the difference in having an extra attacking player getting into positions in the box rather than someone extra slowing the game down in a defensive role (UNLESS you're playing Eriksen in the 2 in the CM)

If Poch will to let him go it’s for a good reason.

We have a very good attacking three that can play behind Kane but that engine room let us down a tad times this season when Dembele wasn’t fit or off form.

It is an area we can improve and maybe Poch wants something different there.

The other thing is when we play Dier he can drop into defence so maybe we’re looking for a player who can also do that.

Personally Wanyama is still my favourite over Dier to play defensive midfield but he struggled last season.

Just thinking out aloud, perhaps Poch has seen something in one of other players we currently have that they can step into his shoes. Foyth could be a possibility he's good on the ball, knows how to defend so will be able to position him self in the right area. Similar to Dier can step into the back if we want to switch from a 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 without the need to make a sub. Also gives him game time.

Personally i would be disappointed if Wanyama left as he's a beast and offers a solid protection if we need to defend against the better teams.
