Still think his journey here was weird. He looked really promising early on and I remember him looking dangerous in that game against Everton and then he just stopped being played completely and couldn't score. Not blaming Poch at all but it was just a weird season. He must have been pretty bad in training. No idea what we'd be able to get for him this summer.
Got it, I really have no idea who we are after for a Kane backup this summer. Really no rumors out there for anyone. I don't count Martial as a Kane backup btw.The Sun ( yeah...I know) had us asking £10 million for him a month ago with Besiktas eyeing a move, but as in the linked article, they were only prepared to pay £4 million.
We weren't interested at that price.
Of course, all newspaper spiel, so what's correct is somewhat guesswork.
He cost 17mil and is 2 years into his contract. If we can’t find a buyer for him at least 10mil I think he will be have to given a chance to to prove himself in pre season.Interesting to see what happens with Janssen in pre-season. Pochettino is clearly completely done with him - was asked what he thought of a goal Janssen had scored early in the season and wasn’t even aware that he’d scored.
If a deal hasn’t been done by the start of pre-season I could genuinely see VJ training with the u23s. I simply don’t think Pochettino has any interest in him any more. So strange to see his reaction to that question, as he normally takes such an interest in his players as people.
I liked his effort but just didnt click for him. I still think he may come good but I've had these false dawn feelings with the likes of Rebrov, Postiga and Soldado too.
The sooner he gets the proverbial monkey off his back the better.
Need him concentrating on his game and slotting into our system rather than when his next goal is coming because we've been there with Soldado
I prefer things today where we have Kane with attacking players like Son, Alli, Eriksen and Lamela who can all score ten plus goals every season. I prefer the fluidity of our play. Not to say the first three you mention were not quality players as of course they wereAnd to think at one time we had Berbatov, Keane, Defoe and Mido. Maybe not World class, but at least the was back up with a goal in them.
So how did he do in Turkey?
So how did he do in Turkey?
He would probably go to walk up to the stage and end up missing and wlak past the side of it.- I can see the club announcing a "Return of the prodigal son"-event.
- Spurs fan in the crowd are ecstatic shouting "Gareth, Gareth, Gareth!
- Vincent Janssen comes up at stage
- Fans go silent
- Levy grins
15 appearances (9 from the start, 6 as a sub)So how did he do in Turkey?
