Mauricio Pochettino spoke with a sense of vindication after seeing his side continue their 12-game Premier League unbeaten streak, moving within two points of the top four.

Pochettino was especially pleased with how his team kept trying to score even when the win was assured. “We always look forward and want to score,” he said, “like in the last 10 minutes, at 3-0. In football, I like to look forward, try to play and score goals.”

This is one of the key steps I've been waiting for us to make.

It's a shift into another mindset that will really help us to kill games stone dead.

I'm glad he's not getting caught up in the hype. Yes we were a lot better than West Ham today but I don't think we're title contenders yet. However we are getting closer and in a couple of years time, if we keep improving we may have a great chance.

Not his style. He did allow himself a couple of cheeky grins today though in interviews.

I would normally agree - but this year isn't a normal year - the top sides are well off their normal pace and if we keep performing like this I think we will be up there pushing... At the moment I actually have more confidence in us winning than ManC, ManU, Chelski etc winning - hard to believe... anyway - 1 game at a time.

we are improving all the time and if we can continue the intensity then we are in for a shout at the title but that would depend on the form of those above us. At the moment Arsenal, Manu, Man c and Chesea are inconsistent. The aim as Poch quite rightly states is to improve all the time

Title favourites city have conceded 4 goals in one game twice whereas the most we have conceded is 2. Doesn't say much other than maybe the favourites are not as clear cut as everyone thought after the first 5 games.

Still early days though, tons of football to be played. Just need to not get carried away because our biggest game of the season is next week against Chelsea. The expectations and pressure for the team seem to be increasing by the week so let's see how they cope with the visit of the champions.

We are the 3rd of the way through season, and a lot can happen yet. for me we are still a couple of game changing players away from the title contenders. We have some great players, but everyone needs "a couple " more game changers who can win you the game when you are playing badly. Possibly a winger, and another forward who are top, top level.

Small steps is the right way, solid foundations, in order to keep building with long term solidity in mind.
The emergence in recent seasons of the likes of Kane, Bentaleb and Mason, this season Onomah seems to be the next off the production line, all bodes well. It will show players within our academy setup, or contemplating joining, that we have a clear path to the first team mapped out for you so long as you work hard. It will make us a very attractive destination for elite young talent, allowing us to try and keep pace with the bigger spenders on our more limited budget.
January will be a key transfer window for us. The vast majority of the fringe players/deadwood have been removed. Next step is to add sufficient depth in key positions. Backup striker is a must, we've been relatively lucky so far that Kane has remained fit so far and ridden out his barren spell, however an alternative option on order to keep the players fresh at the back end of the season is critical. Likewise, Dier has surprised me with his emergence in CM, I didn't buy into it as an option, but have to admit I was wrong (which maybe explains why I work in an office and not as a football manager). Quality backup for Dier is also important, so as not to put too much burden on him. Elsewhere we seem to have sufficient depth of quality. Maybe RCB needs looking at, as Fazio seems out of favour, and Dier is now occupied in CM. I think Carroll, Fazio and maybe even Townsend can/will be sacrificed to raise additional funds, as we have viable alternatives on the books for Carroll and Townsend already.

I think we have a youth on our side and therefore the sky's the limit. Our potential is unknown come January we just need another striker as backup to Kane.

We have unbelievable talented young development players coming back ie Bentaleb Pritchard so we need to be careful in the market

I would personally keep Carroll and Townsend. Fazio I'm not sure about we could move him on and promote from within....ie give Veljkovic the space.

As much as I love this Spurs side, I don't think we are at the level of Man City or Arsenal (with a fit Wiltshire, Walcott, Ramsey and Oxlaide-Chamberlain). If those two clubs continue misfiring and having injury problems, if Utd continue to be strangely below par, and if Harry Kane stays fit for the whole season, then we have a chance. But that's a lot of ifs. Realistically, fourth place would be a triumph.

You're right. If we beat Chelsea, we'll (most likely) shoot into the top four, continue our amazing run, and - most importantly - other teams will start to see us as genuine challengers, which will make them fear us. Being feared will be worth an extra 10 points, which could make all the difference between comfortably making the top four and scrapping around the edges of it. Winning against Chelsea could be the beginning of a snowball effect. Come on you spurs!

Just had a quick look at the games coming up to the end of December for the current top 5 teams. With exception of Chelsea, we've got it pretty easy. Leicester have got a lot of tricky games coming up. Man City have got a few tricky games, including Leicester and Arsenal. Man U have a pretty easy run in, except playing Leicester, whilst Arsenal hardest game will be against Man City...the rest are winnable.

All in all, by 2016 I reckon we will be 4th, Man U will be top, Arsenal second, Man City 3rd, with Leicester dropping back to 5th. However, if Arsenal and Man City form continues like last weekend, we could find ourselves second behind Man U.

Jeez people calm down.
One game at a time yeah?
Yes we're playing well and yes we're capable of scraping top 4 but it's still early days and we're not even half way so talk of winning or coming 2nd etc is nonsense. We're more than capable of finishing 7th so lets reel it in a bit shall we?
What fkin bell end asked Poch that loaded question anyway?

The last time I looked at us being a contender, Harry was pimping himself for the England job, and running from the tax man. We collapsed into a heap from January to May.

I will not get carried away. But jeez I'm enjoying this season. Goodonya Poch. Audere est Facere

It's a shift into another mindset that will really help us to kill games stone dead.

The best defence is a good offence, we all know what happens when teams sit back and try to defend a lead, it invites them on, i'd much rather see us keeping them on the back foot by attacking when were in the lead.
