Don't get me wrong Poch is and has done a fantastic job but this Christmas Period has bought out a major bug bear of mine about him. Substitutions.

Against Bournemouth 3-0 up at HT and 4-0 up at 60mins. He doesn't make his 1st sub until 77 mins.

Against Everton 5-2 up at 60mins again and after Alli injury makes 2nd sub at 79 mins.

Then the below against Wolves we're 1-0 up until 72mins and he missed the opportunity to put on Skipp.

The players were clearly nackered that 2nd half and yes he has a limited squad but I don't understand why he didn't take people off when we were so ahead in previous games sooner!?

Tottenham Hotspur were well beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the end.

Spurs have been in magnificent form recently, and yesterday's defeat was completely out of the blue. It came at the worst time too. Pochettino's men could have put some real pressure on league leaders Liverpool, but they now sit nine points adrift of the Reds.

The Lilywhties seemed to lack any real kind of energy in the second half against Wolves, and perhaps the hectic festive schedule has finally caught up with them.

Pochettino spoke to reporters after yesterday's match, and admitted that he wanted to bring Skipp into the fray for Tottenham, but couldn't because Wolves equalised just before, as quoted by Football.London:

Oliver Skipp of Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth at Wembley Stadium on December 26, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

"In the last 20 minutes it was tough for the team to find energy to be competitive or to try to win the game. Of course we started to feel it a few minutes before we conceded which is why we were ready to add a fresh player like Oliver Skipp to help the team and we couldn't because we conceded in the action before we were going to make the change."

Skipp, 18, has really impressed when he has played for Tottenham this season, and Poch should surely have brought the midfielder on anyway, in spite of the fact that his side had just conceded.

With Cardiff City away next on January 1st, Pochettino will surely have to rotate his options, and Skipp could be in line to start the game in Wales.

The midfielder has proven that he is ready for regular first-team action, and the Tottenham boss will be ruing the fact that he chose not to bring him on yesterday.
