The test of our depth of squad quality will come when we play the top 4, not Huddersfield, West Ham or the CypriotsSquad being stretched a bit at the moment, but showing a strength in depth a few doubted

They'll all be fit by then ye who's glass is half emptyThe test of our depth of squad quality will come when we play the top 4, not Huddersfield, West Ham or the Cypriots
I'm not saying our depth of quality is not there, It is more about how we would fair against the top 4 teams as opposed to what we've recently facedThey'll all be fit by then ye who's glass is half empty
Is that the fairest barometer of squad depth though?I'm not saying our depth of quality is not there, It is more about how we would fair against the top 4 teams as opposed to what we've recently faced

They say the same every year. Every year the "top four" strengthen, splash the cash. Every year we beat Arsenal, United, Chelsea and City. Every season our fans are grumbling that we haven't spent enough, no squad depth. Personally, I think we have the strongest squad we've had in years (once all fit).I'm not saying our depth of quality is not there, It is more about how we would fair against the top 4 teams as opposed to what we've recently faced

The team we put put the other night against apoel would struggle against the top four especially that formation unbalanced and disjointed, thankfully we got the result. They say the same every year. True, but we have quite a few first teamers out injured or banned. When all those are fit, we'll be much stronger. It's not fair to say we have a weak squad depth-wise when we have a lot out. If Chelsea or United had 6 out, naturally their squads would be weaker. No team will have 4 top class players in each position. The team we put put the other night against apoel would struggle against the top four especially that formation unbalanced and disjointed, thankfully we got the result.
Of course not I agree but the last couple of weeks as highlighted just how weak our squad is, having said that city could have a problem with mendy out for a while and the others haven't really had any or many injuries yet.True, but we have quite a few first teamers out injured or banned. Our squad isn't that weak at all. The problem is we have a lot missing at the same time. No team would be close to their rivals first choice 11's with 7 players out.Of course not I agree but the last couple of weeks as highlighted just how weak our squad is, having said that city could have a problem with mendy out for a while and the others haven't really had any or many injuries yet.
Getting on my tits that in no media outlet, be it TS, MOTD, Sky or whatever, none of them ever mention that when talking about our performances.... ever. Our squad isn't that weak at all. The problem is we have a lot missing at the same time. No team would be close to their rivals first choice 11's with 7 players out.
I'm not moaning mate just commenting of how threadbare we are with injuries once they come back it will look better balanced and stronger. Our squad isn't that weak at all. The problem is we have a lot missing at the same time. No team would be close to their rivals first choice 11's with 7 players out.

I don't think we lack depth against any of the top teams. You dig past 3, 4, 5 injuries and all the top teams are playing weak players or kids.agree!
Once everyone is fit:
If we look at best X1 I would back us over any team in the league.
If we look at best X1 plus 3-4 subs I would back us fully
Ok when we get deeper, it is true that Utd have more depth but we are improving on that front!
almost agree --- note I said Utd not the other top teams....think their depth is significant and underestimated in some quarters to be honestI don't think we lack depth against any of the top teams. You dig past 3, 4, 5 injuries and all the top teams are playing weak players or kids.
