Clever management, basically calling him out by praising him and his unique talent and boost to our squad. Poch has served well, will Lamela be able to return that one?

I'm with Poch on this one. Our set pieces haven't been as good from Eriksen of late and I think Lamela gives a different option here. He can also take the creative burden off Alli and Eriksen.

I think a lot of people are underestimating Pamela
He is going to be a wonderful option

He's going to be rusty as hell. I hope the fans are patient with him.

Nice to hear Poch say what I have suggested so many times. The obsession many people have with pace is no good against most of the sides we play against who park the bus. Lamela does offer something different and more unpredictable in taking people on. In addition he is able to play a quick passing game in tight situations.

But of course all this will only be possible if he is fully fit

There are two types of players imo. One who just has the natural talent to play football and the other who has to work hard to be a great footballer.

Lamela I think is the former so although a year out will obviously take time to gain match fitness, it will purely be this rather than trying to regain his footballing game again which would take considerably longer.

Lamela can see and play the early pass, which is more useful than pace, when teams are sitting deep.
