ahh bless them, we should have given the b squad a rest & played our 12 yr olds because its really important for anyone but the first team to be ready for Newcastle. Does anyone remember when pre season was about getting the first team and new signings (lol) match fit before the season started.

Me thinks first 11 is still knackered after hectic season. Pre season is all about generating revenue these days. Not this particularly. But in general.

A lot of the first team are still on the required three week break.

A failed attempt at sarcastic humour.

Our first team were playing a couple of weeks ago in the World Cup. They'll be fine. We don't need anyone.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I can't imagine too many Spurs fans being outraged over the result.

The good old days! Pre season was used to build up to being season ready by playing lower league clubs first (also helping many stay afloat through gate receipts) and then a couple of big name clubs right near the end. It's now all about money abroad to circumnavigate the 39th game issue.

Chuckle brothers must be the zenith of comedy for you then. Well, that should be in the singular following the passing of one of them.

I did't know that the Chuckle Brothers did sarcasm. I was thinking more of Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder tbh, but thanks for taking the time to respond ;)
