Other than the Chelsea and arsenal games we've been terrible when we win let alone when we lose.
With every passing week it looks like another player has lost the will to participate.

I was truly shocked when I heard we hadn't lost at home since November, it feels like we've hardly won save for the aforementioned games.
It doesn't matter what it feels like to you, the fact is we have not lost at home in EPL games since November. So, munch on that. Anyway, more to the point, give me the time you were last entertained by Spurs, discounting those pesky maulings of Chelsea and Arsenal.

I'm glad you're now reconciled to your nature. I shall be visiting one of your troglodyte dwellings tomorrow; no doubt, there will be some posters of Sherwood's ancestors on the walls, recognisable from their owl-like faces.

You see, this is what happens when people live in caves: you lose sight of context and everything needs to be spelt out. I had stupidly assumed that you would have understood that it was the EPL that was being referred to, especially as a Sherwood acolyte you would not have been using cup data for any analysis. More fool me for not using the FA cup result or indeed for using a secondary reference.

But we all know that fact.

Sounds like he doesn't fancy being in the europa league.
I think Mauricio was, way back last august, 'told' to be competitive in the Europa League; then wasn't given the tools to do the job.
If you try to build a car with cheap parts and expect it to perform at top level, it will more than likely break down.

This is a typical 'we've just lost' postl. Relax dude. There are things to be positive about if you look for them. We're not Chelsea or ManU, you knew that already.
I don'y think this is a "we've just lost" post Jenko. You may have noticed that 14 other people said this sentiment was a winner, including myself.
I.m.h.o his post sums up, quite succinctly the way Spur's Management operate and conduct football business....and the result is a downward spiral that has resulted in a team with little if any real quality players like we have right now.
Pochetto is vague about transfer targets because he is learning, like so many Spurs' coaches have before him, that he is never going to really get anything near what he needs player-wise to field a really competitive team.

Well yes, you and the others who agreed with the OP are not wrong. I've said similar things the past and it's easy to criticise the club when you see these things repeated so often.

But it's the timing of it that made me link it to the loss against Villa. I was depressed enough with the result that I didn't want to be reminded of our cynical approach to the transfer market. So I chose to take a more positive view to protect my fragile sanity.

Truth is, this approach is probably what has enabled the planning of the new stadium, and once we get the stadium we'll just find another reason to justify its continuance (like paying the mortgage on it). We can only hope Poch finds a way to turn water into wine in the meantime.

While I don't disagree with your post, your only "hope"looks a tough ask as so many before Mauricio have found out, and I suspect (you might excuse my cynicism here), that part of the reason he got the job at Spurs was that he was young and can be pushed around.

I remember Sherwood said he had discussed Spurs targets before he was shown the door.

This season could still go either way, at best could pip Man city for a CL place (not saying that will happen) or at worse could finish below Swansea or we could pip Liverpool for 5th which would be a good achievement.
Finishing below Southampton or Swansea would be clearly unacceptable to the board and would see a reluctance by them to back him.
