No easy ride for this kid then! He'll end up loaned out to somewhere like Grimsby Town next season...

I don't know why I feel this way but I really hope we're not using this kid for commercial reason.
I hope he makes the grade at Spurs for footballing, he might be a useful right winger as being used there by USA.

Pretty ridiculous headline when the Pochettino quotes just say he is in the same position as every other player.

I don't see anything derogatory in that article, just MP saying Yedlin has to show his worth to the squad.

The article aside, which doesn't really say much - Yedlin does seem to be playing well for the USA national team, surely there's something about him that makes him a good player. Still early days IMO!

I would guess he will be eager to impress in the MLS all star game. may be the deciding factor

A loan may be good for him, we see it a million times in every team players struggle with the physicality early in their career in the BPL a loan to a lower club to show what's needed mentally and physically can't be a bad thing.

Maurice didn't say that. He was asked the question if he would go on loan or be part of the squad? He said he would have to demonstrate his qualities LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO. nothing to see here.

For anyone who think this was solely a "marketing signing", consider that it only works from a marketing angle if Yedlin plays. If Yedlin does not play, there is nothing to market.

Another headline / story turning around what was said by Poch. Yedlin has the ability, is young, and needs to settle into PL system of playing, which is a lot more faster & physical than USA. Jurgen would not have recommended him to us. Or play him in USA international team if Yedlin was just average. After all Jurgen knows all about football and players quality from his own playing careerer / experience. Daniel Levy is not going to allow his / THFC reputation be ridiculed by jurnos. / media for signing this "average" player just for the sake of a bit of marketing in USA.
