Poch on Ade:

"Ade is a fantastic player. I think this is not a big problem".

Plenty of Community fans will be choking on their cornflakes this morning....:ninja:

I'd say this line was more pertinent

"He understands football and that this is a business and a game.

He's not going to play for us again and needs to sort his shit out if he wants a club or he gets Bennied.

Good man. Giving him public support doesn't cost anything but could potentially give him the confidence he needs to return to form. And if I were a player I'd love to see the manager coming to the defense of my fellow players over the fickle opinions of the fans.

I'm going to get slated by some folks, but genuine question, would the team spirit, effort and general morale appear to have lifted amongst the players in the past few weeks, sans Adebayor?

I'm convinced by it.

In fact when he was hauled off in his last game for us it visibly changed then. Players were starting to run and show for the player on the ball.

We then scored 2 goals.

Aw shit, I was really hoping we'd sell him in January or do a Bennie on him. I wish I knew a dirty cop who could just 'find' some cocaine in his car so we could sack him. Maybe I crossed the line a little there.... :angelic:

What do you mean fickle? It's not fickle to think that Ade is inconsistent, lazy, evidently a bit voodoo crazy and needs to move on. The crazy part is relatively new, but I believed the rest of it was true from day one. So I think you meant to say "...over the 'rational' opinions of the fans".

Nothing in what was said means we still aren't trying to move him on?
After all if he makes out everything is ok it may tempt another team to take him.

That's my reading of it.

I still reckon we will be paying a large % of his wages till the end of his contract either way.

Totally. And, as importantly I think, the fan morale has lifted too.

Poch isn't stupid, he knows that he needs Ade for the rest of the season as we can't go through the season with just Kane and Soldado and we're not going to get rid of him in January. So it's in his best intentions for him to keep him onside and try and get him motivated.

This is what AVB should have done.

Just needs to get fit over the next couple of weeks and I think he could get back to being an asset for us. Can't rely solely on Kane/Soldado, especially considering they quite often play together.

Totally agree, is like selling an old banger by calling it a reliable runner and a great first car

No one is going to take him on a hundred grand a week.

City had to pay him a hundred grand a week just to fuck off. Simple maths says we will have to pay 50k till his contract is up. Even If we can persuade anyone to have the **** on a loan.

Personally I would hope our HR is looking at breach of contract. But knowing Levys lack of football knowledge he probably thought he was getting a steal and gave him a beautiful golden un breakable contract.

The mug.

I don't get you. I really don't. You arnt stupid. Yet you are blind when it comes to this idiot.

Why can't you see it?

Is it just a love for all things Spurs or you just have a soft spot when it comes to tall dark men from Togo?

See what?

My preference would be for us to replace two of our strikers in January, but what are the chances of that happening? I hope to not see Adebayor or Soldado beyond the summer and get someone in who can do the job more consistently.

BUT, as it stands, we have a proven goalscorer on the books, I prefer for us to try to get him back contributing, as he has done before, than to rely solely on a 21 year old in his breakthrough season and a guy that has no proven track record of scoring in England. Especially as we're still in all competitions.
