Hope we get a few players in. All the media talk is about Bentaleb, Pritchard and Clinton leaving but we don't have a huge squad right now. We can't afford too many injuries at the moment and that scares me.

Sky bet not making enough money so something comes out of nothing.
I'm sure pochettino was referencing GKN as a likely signing. But sky change it to him being already signed and therefore it must be someone else.

I must admit when analysing the current squad despite being very optomistic about the quality of the youngsters being produced - it would appear we are short in areas heading into such a big season.

I don't have the answer, however a third striker would be massive. Should Kane become injured that is a huge amount of goal scoring responsibility on Janssen's shoulders. Preferably one with premiership experience would be nice... Perez - Newcastle?

Winner I am sure will provide adequate cover for Jan should recovery be slower than expected.

Not impressed with Son or Chadli against Juve, they must improve against Madrid - or at least one could be on the way out.

I feel we're short in terms of experience, neither of our current midfielders have extensive champion's league experience (this may be a good thing? I don't know?) I just feel we need a player to tie it all together (like van der Vaart did not too long ago). Even if we could snap up a aging player with that kinda experience.

Jees t-bag, you arent taking any prisoners there! Surely we should let the chaps get up to speed before we make some decisions...

Personally i have seen enough of Son to want to see another season.

And Chadli is a good player. If someone wants to test my are with good money, then fair enough. But i wouldnt be trying to get rid.

Personally I think there will be a few outs if the prices are right but that Poch, like us, wants a settled squad he can take into the season well prepared. Although there always the possibility of a last minute special player being available Poch does not strike me as the last minute type

One of the key learnings from the disastrous summer when we sold Bale and bought 7 players is the challenge associated with bedding in so many changes in one window. I don't think we will be bringing in more than a total of 3-4 players in this window which is alright with me. If Nkoudou comes in, he should give the squad some much needed pace that we've lacked since Lennon left. I also think our own version of a 'Coutinho, Hazard, Payet' type player who can beat a player and get you something out of nothing is much needed. Beyond that I am happy to have younger fringe players like Onomah, Winks, CCV, Ball sniffing around for opportunities especially in the Carling Cup or during fixture congestion periods.

It will be difficult for the manager to give a decent third out and out striker enough games to keep him happy so I would accept the risk of going with just 2 and then relying on the likes of Lamela, Onomah or Son to cover in an emergency. Berahino could have been ideal for the squad position of striker/forward but it looks like that ship already sailed.

We need an above the bar signing one game changing player... Doesn't need to be silly money.

Agree. there is always value to be had in the market with players that are young, not so well established or have a question mark over them for whatever reason.

West ham showed it with Payet, Liverpool with Coutinho, Leicester with Mahrez and Kante and we have with Dele Alli. Hope Mitchell's black box can throw up a corker of a playmaker!!!

With the news that Man Ure could be Notting out a load of their youngsters, there must be a one or two that Poch fancies?!! What about that defender who played against us last season? He was an absolute beast!!!

Spam lucked out big time with Payet, as did Leicester with Mahrez. It's always a risk signing unsuccessful/temperamental older players. We took a similar punt with Ade...

Payet was like 29 when West Ham signed him, no way would Levy have paid up, Wenger turned him down due to age too

Yeah it was Mensah looked a decent prospect. Not sure if he'll be part of a fire sale but every season there are bargains to be had and I hope we're keeping an eye out for them. Trouble is, if the two of us noticed him you can bet some other clubs did too so we might not get a steal.
