Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was quick to blame himself after the 2-1 defeat at Watford on Sunday afternoon.

"I thought we controlled the game in the first 45 minutes."

Control can sometimes be fruitless possession.

Which we're very adept at in this shape.

Unless you have the speed of Rose & Walker in the wing-back areas, then the system falls apart. We looked solid in the 1st half, but we rarely looked dangerous. Infuriated that we kept hitting long-balls when the space in behind was rarely there.

Need to resort back to the 4-man defence & get an extra body in midfield, or attack.

Poch is correct to blame himself. After Watford scored the first goal it was obvious that they would get another if no changes were made. Poch did nothing and by the time he made his changes it was too late. It has been a bad day for everybody.

in the first run of games, every season we've been inconsistent, it's only this time we won three on the trot, but we know we haven't been playing well, well yesterday it finally caught up, it wouldn't have mattered who was where in what position, possibly if loris was avail maybe diff outcome, because of the quality, but the line is there and it has been even though we have been winning, likely we win next three and drop again, until later in the season that's what they do

Bit of a comedown really isn’t it. He is tactically inconsistent unfortunately, but he gets it right more than he gets it wrong!

I don't think the initial team selection was bad. Deeney is a blunt instrument who can be a handful but we completely dominated for 65 minutes and he didn't get a sniff. However, it became obvious pretty quickly that Dembele's radar wasn't functioning very well and Eriksen wasn't interested. Our passing was inaccurate which is where we always end up looking sluggish. It seemed that 90% of passes were a yard behind the receiver instead of 2 yards in front and that's a real momentum killer. Winks looked much, much better at moving the ball once he came on. Our main problem though was the stroll in the park mentality which is precisely what Poch (and everybody else) was wary of. Substitutions were far too late and that one is on Poch.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else after a defeat, but the gloom hit me last night and keeps recurring this morning.

It's frustrating. I keep feeling like there are some lessons that we never seem to learn.

I keep thinking that I did something wrong and that it had some negative karmic effect on the team.

I know we're in trouble against Liverpool if I can't remember what socks I was wearing last season. I think I might have had my hair cut before that game as well but I can't be sure. My shitty memory could well cost us a lot of points this season.

My sins are affecting Spurs, I'm sure. Mauricio wasn't happy with me after the game, either.

I know, I know: I was too calm before the game, hadn't retched a few times and been to the loo. That's what caused Eriksen to pull out of every fucking tackle, Kane to not pass, and the whole defence to play statues.

Lacklustre, slow, pedestrian performance. Had a feeling that the hype might be believed after last Monday!

Alli & Eriksen we’re both awful and seemed to sulk due to the positions they were asked to play in! Get ur f*&king heads down and work for the team!

Appreciate Watford have started well but guarantee neither City, Liverpool or Chelsea will drop points at Vicarage Road.

Hope it’s a tiny blip and we bounce back against Liverpool

As long as Deeney dangles his cojones in front of Cech, I'll be pleased.

Deeney deserved his goal. Anyone who can go shoulder to shoulder with Sanchez and leave him on the floor has a raw power that you have to admire.
