I didn't agree with the team selection because after 9 days rest I believed we should of gone with our strongest team with the midfield axis of Bentaleb, Mason and Dembele which has worked so well recently. However we were great for the first 25 minutes as we really pressed them but again suffered by not scoring that second goal while on top. Our pressing then dropped off because certain individuals like Paulinho just cant cope with the pace of that type of tactic, also thought Eriksen had a poor game back in the middle.
Now Poch has the headache of what team to put out in the away leg 3 days before a Cup Final. We will need key players fresh for that Final if we are going to try to press Chelski on that Wembley pitch.

When you've got two matches to do it over, it is too much of a risk to use all your best players. What if you had seen an injury on Kane or Mason? You must try to grind out a result taking as few risks as possible. It was not the selection that was the problem, but the lack of diverse tactics and plan Bs. Not tactic to defend a lead, no tactic to break down a structured defence, and no plan for making great subs.

Poch is far more stubborn than even AVB was.

It was ironic really, because I think Adebayor would have matched up well against their defence and I am hoping we send him out to Italy to play, even if that is alongside Soldado.

Funny to see you compare Poch to AVB and comment on Ade in the same post. According to many, AVB was a jerk to sideline Ade, but for now nobody is calling Poch a jerk, even if Ade is not even close to the bench.
