It was the elephant in the room during the transfer window. We're simply not as good when he doesn't play and we have to hope that there's a plan in place to somehow gradually replace him as we couldn't afford a 100%fit young version of Dembele.

I think Winks will get plenty of time on the pitch this season but he's also struggling a bit after his injury. Seems a bit odd to have loaned Onomah out with all this going on unless Poch really thought he wasn't worth a place. I want to see Winks make it with us since I really rate him.

Not even on the bench today.

I think Dembélé is the best 'footballer' in our squad. If he scored even 10 goals a season, with the way he plays the rest of the game, we'd be talking about him as one of our greatest.

He's a terrific player and we'd love to see him play every game but maybe we're in the same situation as we were with Ledley and Anderton. If Wanyama is fit then we've got Wanyama, Winks, Dier and Dembele. Perhaps we can manage Dembele so he's available for the big matches. Speaking of which, a win away in Cyprus would put us in a great position to qualify for the next round.
