Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been talking about how difficult it is to convince some players to join the club when they know established stars are already there.

Hmmm should read ‘difficult to persuade strikers to join the club’ as that is what he refers to.

It’s more than likely to do with wages as Chelsea etc still offer more.

Players join them regardless of competition for places in the team.

We've signed at least 3 strikers
who haven't been good enough
to displace HK on a regular basis.
He has been on such form for 3 seasons now
and his willingness makes him undroppable.
The solution is not to sign experienced players
but youngsters with promise
preferably own grown to understudy him
and learn the trade.

Our 3 attempts (Soldado, Janssen, and Llorente
were all good in theory
but have all been unfamiliar
with the English game
and the club.

People more familiar with our youth
can probably suggest several youngsters
who might have been
or are being groomed
for elevation to the Kane succession.
I can't believe that there has not been
one player in the last three seasons
at the club or outside
who has not been capable
to serve in the Court of King harry

Or just play son up front. His scoring record when playing as a striker is insane.

I am hoping Sterling will make breakthrough once he is back from injury (presuming he’s still injured?).

Then players like Son can also cover.

Midfield engine room and full back is the priority.

We're stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to buying strikers, no one half decent wants to be back up to Kane, who wants to sit on the bench week in week out just to play the odd cup match and get a few mins here and there. This is why we end up with Llorente and Janssen type players, players that are past it and are happy to sit on the bench and play now and then or players who are young, not quite good enough and need to play consistently to get better.

True but he was a poor fit
for our game.

When HK was injured in different spells
other attacking players stepped up
and we played a more fluid style.
Harry playing a more varied role now
fits in with this
especially with the arrival of Moura
though I prefer HK to be the focal point.

It's hard for anyone I think to get into our team.

For a start Poch won't play anyone until they understand what he wants, are fit enough and show a good reason to be trusted in place of others. Then they have to displace internationals who are all pretty good comparatively in their positions. So unless we pay people fortunes so they don't mind sitting in the stands we have to get players who are, like Moura, coming from teams with even more competition or players who are willing to compete with top players

But is this really different from any of the teams in the top six?
