In this day and age of hurried appointments and panic sackings, managers could be forgiven for having a short-term outlook.

"I think all the players need coaching; if you do not push the player they are going to be too comfortable. Always you need to push."

Is this what most sets him apart from Wenger?

I think Wenger had this ability to coach when he first came to England. In fact I think he led the way in the coaching and motivational aspect if you listem to players from that era.

However the game has evolved and he has not. He was ahead of his time once but now looks like a dinosaur.

Poch hopefully is young enough to adapt and learn himself. I think we are seeing that in just four years with us. Despite criticism from some of us he is better at in-game management, he seems to be getting more and more from the players and also has a tough side when needed. Great qualities he has lets just hope he continues to develop his own skills as well as the team's.

The club's pockets (Arsenal) are deeper than ours, for sure. But maybe Poch use uses them better than Wenger...

I think the thing that sets him apart from Wenger (and just about every other top manager) is that he is respectful. He is always polite and welcoming to others and he sets very high standards for himself. In return, he expects that type of respect from the players that work for him, and if he doesn't get it he gives them short shrift. Kaboul, Adebayor, Bentaleb, Capoue, Walker all got ejected very quickly and I expect Alderweireld to follow. Rose may have turned it around but we'll have to wait and see. He shows great loyalty to players who follow instructions and has always prized attitude as highly as talent. We've hit the bullseye with Poch and I hope to God we can keep him long enough for him to build a dynasty.

Another article stating that he's likely to stay long term.

But of course this will be ignored by the melts who are convinced thst he'll be off as soon as Real or Utd come calling blah blah

Well to be fair Potch identified the first four player as soon as he came on board, and yes - soon after they were shown the door. Both Walker and Alders played successful seasons with us, before their heads were turned/wanted to 'further their career' with another club, and that's when their amount of applied effort seems to have dried up.

Top class training complex

Top class new stadium

Stands to reason that we'd need a top class manager.

So lucky my old dad supported Spurs resulting in myself following the trend as a nipper.

Doesn't bear thinking about if he'd supported West Ham.

To think I prefer De Boer as our choice of manager... I'm so glad to be wrong for once ;)

Spurs have really hit the jackpot with Poch. So glad we hired him above other candidates that were more popular at the time. Some, including myself if I’m honest, thought he would be another manager that would come and go in two seasons without progressing the club. Thankfully i was wrong and now it’s “in Poch I trust”
