It is understood that Jamaal Lascelles and Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt have particularly impressed the club while Wilfried Zaha, Jonny Evans and Jay Rodriguez are also being considered

Would love all of those except Evans. And Zaha I don't think we need, now we have Moura.

De ligt for Toby replacement and we really are set for the next 10 years as long as they don’t get poached. I can honestly see Verts playing well into his 30s also.

Jay Rodriguez has been half the player since his serious injury. He was exciting and effective before he got crocked. I can't see how he'd be on Pochettino's list. Knee-jerk journo-space-filler.

None of those players will are needed apart from De Ligt as Toby's replacement.

I'd rather spend the money on a single player or two that will improve the first team. Like a proper playmaker at CM like a Verratti (although someone actually obtainable)

Reminds me of this summary of transfer window myths I read recently -

"Clubs do not have transfer budget, war chests and kitties

If anyone tries to tell you “big club x” has “y amount” to spend they are likely talking nonsense. Ask them to show their work on how they arrived at that number.

As we just discussed, there’s a lot more that goes into player costs than transfer fees. Unless the number being offered up clearly includes wages (which is more than half of the equation), and ideally at least a nod towards agent fees and image rights payments, you can safely disregard it as not reflective of that club’s available resources to bolster its squad."

Assume you didn't see him v Man Utd then. He caused them plenty of problems. Same v Liverpool.

Well, when I've seen him lately his movement has stood out. Whether he'd be on Poch's list is not clear, but the journalist you refer to is no idiot.

What about Foyth as Toby's replacement?
