But he was the one suggesting players could be leaving this window if they were unhappy.

He obviously had someone in mind, so the press are going to speculate.

It’s blatant that Pochettino’s increasing stroppiness when asked about transfers has absolutely fuck all to do with the club and equally fuck all to do with individual players.

Every story has spun his comments this way - and they all quote him slightly differently to suit their spin.

Read around the spin. He’s stroppy because he’s absolutely fucked off with the journalists and the fact that every interviewer, every individual question is about players leaving and not arriving, instead of being about our team, his work and the football match.

It’s actively irritating how many otherwise intelligent people let the journo-spin shape their perceptions of his comments.

Otherwise intelligent?
I'll take that!
Thank-you very much.

You are right that the pre-Fulham presser did not mention anything about Fulham at all. Crazy.
I forget the question, but rather than batting it away with his normal, 'you know I don't talk about rumours', or 'anything can happen in football', he went out of way to to send a long message to one or more players, who are supposedly unhappy and he'll help them leave.

In the second half off the conference that is not filmed, it seems journalists felt entitled to follow this up and suggest the usual suspects who might be unsettled. Seems a fair enough enquiry to me, not that they'd ever get the names.

I also found this statement interesting:
"The club is not going to put pressure on me, otherwise I go home."
Why on earth would this be on his mind?
Levy has always let the managers have plenty of freedom. He does not interfere unless asked.

It is another message, and maybe we'll find out what that is about another day.
I'll cut it out and paste it in my scrap book.
