I just love Poch!
Ferguson built an underperforming sleeping giant, who were very much in Liverpool's shadow back then, into a giant of European football. We've just got to hope that Poch believes he can do that here with Spurs?
I'll be on my prayer mat every night until he announces he is definitely staying!

Poch is such a class act. Even when he doesn't get what he wants he always stays diplomatic and respectful. What he's building here is so much more of an achievement given the financial constraints he's been under compared to all of our rivals.

Great article certainly doesn't sound like a man who is on his way to Utd and I don't believe he will go instead will stay and create a dynasty.

I do worry that he hasn't issued a denial statement and the club don't seem inclined to let him discuss the issue. Having said that all this issue seems to be pure media hype and speculation without any substance confirmed by either club so it is correct for the club to ignore the media questions.

The thing is that the longer Poch talks about his ethos and goals and hopes for the club, the more hypocritical it would be for him to up sticks and clear off to Utd..

I like your spirit and wish I it comes true... but it's not going to happen in today's EPL. Fergie and Wenger were (way) ahead of the other teams in their time but now a few teams have caught up with them and now-a-days it is (much) harder to get "ahead" and then stay head of other teams (in the EPL).
Had Wenger and Fergie been new managers today they would to not have dominated as they did in their hey-days.

Tricky because does he have anything to deny/turn down as things stand?

No point. Press would ask him again 2 days later. Better to make clear we don't discuss other clubs managerial positions

There's no argument posted. No content. Who cares what anyone thinks if they don't explain why?
I don't expect people to care what I think, but I'm entitled to post my opinion. I objected to the confrontational tone, that's all.

You're a brilliant and very smart poster, but I think you're being unnecessarily picky here, unless you're going to start taking issue with every other post on here that doesn't have an "argument" in it. Doing this just discourages contributions.

Pochettino's way of working is dependent on people buying into his philosophy, which was derided by the usual suspects who are now singing his praises. That means that there has to be trust from his employers, something he has with Levy. For Pochettino, money isn't everything, for Woodward it is. Real isn't interested in that philosophy, just on the whim of the president. Pochettino warned the people at Southampton that his stay was linked to Cortese, who believed in him enough to bring him over. The crap spoken about by Reid should be understood with the caveat that he started his post after Poch left. The fact is that Pochettino will rarely, if ever have an opportunity as the one he has now at Spurs.

Whenever I see the phrase "I'm entitled to my opinion", I become certain that someone talking rubbish. Generally, that is because people are confusing that phrase, which is self-evident and therefore pointless, with "everyone's opinion is as valid as everyone else's opinion", which is false.

No one said you aren't "entitled to your opinion". I said there's no point in posting it unless you provide some actual information. Posting an unadorned opinion, without posting an argument, is a waste of everyone's time. It's the internet equivalent of wanking in public.

I do. Often.

No one gives a fuck about your opinion - nor mine - unless you say something to support it. The 21c. internet is full of twats who think that there is some meaning, some significance to "stating their opinion" in public. There isn't. It's just noise.

I try to follow this rule: if I have something to add to a discussion, I say it, in detail, but if I have nothing material to add, I keep my mouth shut. That's also a reason I use the ratings system liberally. It's a good way for me to avoid cluttering up threads with pointless, content-free posts.

I don't like babble.

Wow, so rude. You know what mate, I'm having a totally shit time of it at the moment, and joining in here is helping me make the best of it and get though it. I like SC because generally everyone is friendly and welcoming, and don't act like internet tough guys.

Thanks for making me feel even worse than I already did.

Have you been visiting a different SC, where the likes of Sissoko and Lamela have never been castigated?
