Think we were linked with him previously. Signed for Cologne now, official.
Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski has agreed to rejoin former club Cologne at the end of the season.
The Germany international moved to Bayern in 2006, but has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at the Allianz Arena.
A statement on Cologne’s official website, www.fc-koeln.de, read: "Bayern Munich and Cologne today agreed on the transfer of Lukas Podolski. Lukas Podolski will join on July 1, 2009 and gets a four-year contract."
Officials from Bayern and Cologne met in Munich last week to negotiate the protracted transfer, which had been on the cards since the summer.
The main stumbling block was thought to have been the transfer fee, with Bayern holding out for 10 million euros (just over £9million), thought to be the the amount they paid for Podolski.
The statement continued: "Details (of the deal) have not been released. The deal with Bayern Munich includes a friendly match."
Cologne general manager Michael Meier, who had left the team’s winter training camp in Belek, Turkey, early to seal the deal, said: "They were difficult negotiations, but we have, together with Bayern, found a good solution – for the player and for his future career at Cologne."

My mate's delighted - big Koln fan. They're already merchandising the crap out of him - shirts all over the place!
