Here's a screenshot of him, it's in 2011 though he will have developed a fair bit.

Says he's born 1987...so how can he be 24 years old as the profile says? If they can't get that right maybe...never mind.
Good player nevertheless.

I've watched Poulsen closely in several Sevilla matches on Sky this season. He's the ultimate team player, in that when the likes of Dani Alves bomb forward from FB, he moves across to cover.

Zokora does that too when chimbo runs forward, y'know.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I usually tend to be realistic with my potential targets aqnd I'll say now with much confidence, none of the players in that poll will be coming to the lane.

We will struggle to make the top 10 and the carling cup makes no difference. If people think that this won't hamper our ability to attract top CM then they are deluded, no surprises there from the Tottenham faithful.

OK so Fletcher is not the most glamorous name in the world, however he is a ball winner, and tough tackler, a great, solid screener and a good, no nonesense distributer of the ball.

So, what is it we're after again?

yep, you're totally right. Diarra is definitely on his way, having just moved to Pompey, who will finish above us and may well be in the same european competition as us next year.

Sidwell is quite happy to sit on the bench at Chelsea, plus I don't rate him anyway, what's he actually achieved?

Albelda - maybe

Carrick - you're having a bubble bath if you think that's realistic

Poulsen - Can't see Sevilla doing friendly business with us over one of their top players.

I dont care how grown up and sensible you all want to be, I refuse to accept that Fletcher would be a good signing for us. Surely we can afford to be a bit more ambitious. Ramos has alot of respect around Europe, and we're still in the Wafer cup remember. Plus we will have been in the Wafer cup for 3 years running next year and got to the latter stages in the first 2. Any player with half a brain can see we're on the up, Bent did thats why he chose us over Wet Spams money.

Yea and Darren Bent was playing for Charlton who had been relegated.

Fletcher, like I say, may not be glamorous, but he's experienced and solid at what he does. He is well thought of and often vital to the best team in the country at the moment, with Champions League experience (he is still only 24 I believe and could still develop further)

He has been excellent every time I've watched him for the past 2 years, especially THAT Roma game, when he was clearly the man of the match, oh and THAT Arsenal game the other week.

Anyways, you may think we can afford to be ambitious, but top CM don't grow on trees and when they're available, you better believe they'll be heading for the CL, not some 11th placed team with delusions of granduer and ideas a good 5 years above their station.

My point was that Bent chose us over Wet Spam, who probably offered him 20k a week more that us. Whats that got to do with the fact that Charlton were relegated?

I'm gonna carry on being over-ambitious when it comes to signings if thats ok with you. I thought thats what Spurs fans did

Lucho and Veloso please!

Well West Ham may have offered him more but that's all they could offer him, money.

A top CM will either already be playing for a CL team OR will be wanted by one, if not they will already be playing for a team in the UEFA Cup who are better than us in the league.

That's fair enough, but I'm just trying to be realistic. Spurs fans support their team, which I do, however I try not to get caught up in the notion that we are very very close to the CL and can attract players of that calibre, because we're not and can't.

While we're at it, why don't we put in a cheeky bid for Kaka? Ramos really does have THAT much pull

stick with what you have. most players mentioned in the poll are out of your reach especially poulsen who has supposedly already signed for barcelona.

Kaka's not a great comparison really is it mate?

Who ever thought we'd sign Klinsmann? If you dont ask you dont get, and I'd say both those players are worth an enquiry. If you wanna be realistic, Lucho is probably out of our reach as Porto are an established CL side and he's their captain. Veloso has been linked with United but they are overloaded in centre mid and seem to have a gem in Anderson, I'm sure there are other teams interested but like I said, you dont ask, you dont get.

Anyway I'm sure Commolli and Ramos are sounding out their targets already to get in there before anyone else, and they're probably players who none of us has even suggested.

I agree

van pommell > Tongue in cheek mate, but I'm getting laughed at here for being realistic and not away with the faries.

I'm not laughing. I dont feel that I'm away with the fairy's either. I prefer to think of myself as amibitious.

You have a valid point mate. We do need to keep realistic, but just becuase we're not in the CL doesn't mean we're not gonna get top players, there are other factors that come into it.

People are getting a little hung up on being realistic, the question was who we would like. Had the question been who should we target the responses are likely to have been different. Who do I want to play DM next season? I personally dont know.

Lets not ridicule each others opinion on the basis of being realistic, we are in a strange position given the last 2 seasons 5th place finishes. I think players are sensible enough to realise we are not in a league position which really represents the quality of players here. Performances against the ar5ena1, Man utd, Liverpool and Chelsea have shown what the squad are capable of when not eating crappy food.

I don't mean literally the players themselves, but the skill level the players are at. That is to say, it wouldn't surprise me to see any of those players in a spurs shirt, even though I do agree that it would be unlikely for many of them to be so.

There's no way I'd have Graham Poll as a defensive midfielder, he wasn't even a decent ref! :snooty:
