Pleased, just nervous because so much is riding on this. I'm less nervous than I was about AVB though, and I was pretty pleased about that, so .

I said unsure because I think he is good manager but we really don't know if he can manage egos and how he will perform in big games with an expectation to get a result.

Also most, I just do not believe he will be given ample time to make his mark. Love for the club to prove me wrong.

Neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed. It's an ok choice. Wanted Benitez personally but happy with Poch or De Boer.

Pleased, but cautious. If it looks like Levy has taken himself out of the football side of things again I'll be much less cautious.

Out of the realistic options he'd have been my choice, but I was still holding out hope for Ancelotti before the CL final.

A bit unsure, but pleased we have a head coach and can now fully start to make ready for next season. He wasn't my 1st choice, I think someone much more experienced was what our team needed.

But anyway, he has my full support and I hope this time Levy (and the fans) let him do the job and build something on a long run.

I hope Shaw follows him...

He wasn't my first choice, which was FDB, but on the whole I'm pleased with Pochs appointment.

Not convinced to be honest, he has not got the experience we need imo. Would have loved it to have been rafa or even mancini ( not a popular choice I know ). Will back him 100% and would love him to be successful but I feel its a road we have been down before employing a young manager who has done a good job over a short period of time

Delighted and after the crap we've seen with Sherwood I'm actually excited and looking forward to what he will do with our talented squad. Also very pleased we didn't dick about waiting for someone to come to us after the World Cup finished.

There is nothing riding on this, it's nonsense to think that there is anything precarious about our position. The stadium is coming regardless of what happens and thats all that Spurs need in the short to medium term.

Hmmmmm, I must admit, I got carried away with the notion of us getting LVG. In a strange way though, this feels more........right. I'm not sure why.
I really like the style of football that Southampton play, and I have a feeling that some of out players are going to truly excel with these tactics.
There is a glint in Pochettinos eyes, a quiet confidence, a look of 'lads, i've got this'.
I feel really calm about this appointment. I think we may just get our Spurs back!

Unsure really, which maybe a good thing. They'll be less pressure on him than all the other managers around us.

You can bet your morgatge he won't last the 5 years. Either he'll do well and get poached, or he'll get sacked and Levy will get excited doing some sacking again

Underwhelmed. We went for a huge fucking gamble when there were proven winners to be found. Yes, Poch has shown a great deal of potential, but he certainly wouldn't be the first manager to impress at a smaller club and then crumble under the pressure when given a chance amongst the big boys.
I'm afraid there's just so many question marks:

  • How well will he handle the pressure and expectations that comes with managing a big club?
  • How well will he handle big ego's in the dressing room?
  • How well will his intense high pressure style work when playing two games a week, and this with quite a few injury prone players?
  • How well will he rotate the squad when the fixture list demands so?
  • How well will he find solutions against teams that are more than happy to park the bus?
  • How well will his team perform in those major defining games, cup finals and such? (Not that anything in his past suggests we have any cup finals to anticipate...)

In short: Just not convinced.

We have to play a certain way regardless of results, it is only then that we are happy. If he can get us playing that kind of football we have such a talented squad that we will do well.

Really looking forward to next year now and also to see what he will do with the squad.

Levy's learnt his lesson - he won't bail on the guy at the first sign of trouble. I personally think he realised his mistake in December 2013 and vows to rectify it with this appointment - makes perfect sense. PLUS Poch wouldn't come here unless there were some real assurances given...

This. I thought AVB would be the one and in many ways it's a similar type of appointment (young manager with a long term project and a certain style of play).

But we've seen Poch implement his style in this league...something AVB never did...so I remain optimistic.

My only concern is the fans who deem him not good enough. I hope they are a quiet minority and we can finally act like a club again. My fear is that those people won't give him time and thats when we'll have problems.

But for now....I'm excited.

AVB had a brand new squad and they needed time to gel.
