Agree with all except I don’t believe it is simply a case of not being patient.

We all have views on football. Sometimes we think a player or manager is simply wrong for us.

I will support the manager and give time, unless strong reason not to, but there is nothing wrong with giving an opinion that someone isn’t good enough.

Always funny when proved wrong. I once pushed hard for O Neill as our manager.

Totally agree that it's absolutely fine voicing opinions (I said as much before those quotes) and I think it's totally fine to change an opinion and to argue against others. But it's also amusing to see the number of opinions that are based on such a small pool of evidence.

There's no point mocking those previous opinions - they is probably some valid stuff there when put in context. And there were also a tonne of people saying that it was soon to judge Poch at the time. But what a difference a bit of time can make to those opinions!

You would hope that people might learn and not put the boot in quite so quickly, but hey ho. I guess it would be boring if we all held judgement.

A good mate of mine is a Saints fan. I generally respect his judgment.

He wasn’t much of a Poch fan. Thought he was tactically one dimensional and not a good communicator.

Due to this I was in the fence regarding Poch.

My mate now knows his judgement was wrong but it shows how easy it is to form opinions.

Our views on players and managers doesn’t solely come from our own experience.

We judge on what we read, hear etc from others.

I'm not going to sit on the fence on this one, Christmas 2014 he will still be here, I'm pretty confident on that.

Just to say I wasn't a big fan of Poch's appointment, I thought he was too unproven at a top level, and thought he was simply brought in as a Yes man to help out with the transfer windows running smoothly. He has proven me wrong in both cases, far exceeded my expectations and this year has been anything but a Yes man, glad to see him speak up.

In fairness, both of those things were arguably true of Poch at the time. His lack of English (or rather refusal to use it in press conferences) obviously mean that communication wasn't great and he was fairly one-dimensional tactically even when he came to us that was something a lot of people criticised him for. However, he was a young manager and has constantly learned and improved to the point where it's no longer true.

That was my point.

Essentially we are predicting managers and players based on their time at different teams so in different situations.

It’s impossible to know who will suit us and why I have no problem when people argue someone isn’t right for us.

We can all keep quiet and “give it time.” But that isn’t good for debate.
