I hope spurs are the first away team to play there. As a laugh I reckon every away fan should bring a pair of binoculars to use during the game.

Some of the comments on kumb are rather funny them seem to think they got one over us,i am more than happy they got it i didn't want to see Tottenham hotspur move from North London to there.By the time 2014 comes around they won't be able to fill it cause there more than likely be in the championship or league one.

Put one over on us yeah right!! Just because they've been given a £500,000 stadium for free and gratis and they can sell their old ground and keep the money to buy players, mugs!

We should do that at our first away game there even if we're not the first team to visit!

I am sure they planned to have a removable seats covering the running track so the running track would only be exposed as and when it was needed for athletics events.

Although I suppose this would just result in an increase to a capacity they already wouldn't be filling.

There is a massive chance they are going to be playing in a half empty stadium.

Although, from personally experience it is not as bad as it seems. I have been to LAzio and Roma matches many times (mostly Lazio) and aside from the Rome Derby every game is pretty much half full (the capacity is around 80k.

When you are in the middle of the Lazio ultra's who do not shut up from the moment they get into the ground til the moment they leave, have flares and are standing non stop bouncing around as they sing the atmosphere is quite electric to be frank.

I think the notion of White Hart Lane being so amazing for it's atmosphere is quite over rated, I always thought away matches were much better for prove spurs singing and emotion (more often than not unless the team are winning there is large periods of near silence aside the odd 'stand up if you hate Arsenal'). The White Hart Lane crowd is quite quiet I think, big games and especially floodlit ones are great but are not a patch on the noise at a Rome derby (the fans of Roma and Lazio see that Derby as almost life and death, their passion for it doesn't compare to ours, too different a mindset)

We have the second loudest fans in the Premier League, only Stoke are louder according to Sky.

Just for the record here's the complete list from 2008 with noise level in decibels:

1. Stoke City: 101.8
2. Spurs: 97.58
3. Liverpool: 95.4
4. Pompy: 94.3
5. Newcastle: 94.06
6. Villa: 92.2
7. Chelsea: 92.06
8. Boro': 91.3
9. Arsenal: 90.8
10. Albian: 90.26
11. Everton: 89.98
12. Blackburn: 89.3
13. Bolton: 88
14. Man City: 87.25
15. Fulham: 87
16. Man U: 86.5
17. West Ham: 86.15
18. Wigan: 86.16
19. Hull: 84.6
20. Sunderland: 84.05

Interesting statistics and great to know why rank so highly on noise levels.

I assume that is a maximum noise level reached rather than an average noise level though, my point was there are large periods of time at the Lane when the crowd is flat it's only when the team is doing well on the pitch or the game is huge that these types of levels are reached.

But I suppose this is the same at any English sports ground in England, the nature of the average ENgland fan is not as overt as some Europeans.

As I say, it is a source of pride to see our fans ranking so highly (especially in lower numbers than many of the rival fans we top)

It's English restraint, don't you know? Just off the top of my head, from recent European nights at the Lane, the Dinamo Zagreb mentalists' non-stop pogoing and singing stands in marked contrast to the funereal atmosphere of the Paxton.
