6 games gone, outline the positives vs negatives with the team at the moment.

Don't want to hear about the club so any stadium issues or what's going on with Poch/Levy or anything like that, just the performances or anything like that just what's happening/happened on the pitch.

What is a concern at the moment and what are you very much looking forward to?

I think off the field factors are contributing to on the field problems but I'll resist going down that road because the OP asked so nicely lol.

But I'm really looking forward to Lucas continuing to grow in confidence, Son finding form and Lamela getting more game time. Really do feel his time is coming now.

Kane has obviously looked jaded at times and imo he could of done with a rest at the start of the season but what the hell do I know. He looked more dangerous in the last 20 minutes yesterday than he did in the previous 3 games combined. Hopefully he gets back to his usual high standard.

The one who has disappointed me the most so far is Eriksen. Usually such a consistently high performer but he's looked under par so far and consequently so have we. When he's purring so are we. It's not that he's been really poor, he hasn't just sub standard for him.

So, what I'm really lookng forward to is Eriksen getting back to dictating our attacking game more effectively.

Positives:
Moura, Lamela, Alderweireld, Rose and Winks are gradually getting back to their best form. We basically played without any of them for most of last season, so we currently have a much stronger bench, despite the lack of summer signings.
Moura contributing goals, in the absence of Son, and adding a new dynamic to our attack.

Negatives:
Struggling to defend set pieces.
Losing focus / getting tired late on in games and conceding soft goals.
Not creating enough chances.

Looking forward to:
Kane scoring his first hat-trick of the season (there will be more than one!).
All of our attacking options getting back to their best, so we can consistently blow teams away, while also rotating the squad.

The re-emergence of Lamela. He was tenacious and effective against Leicester in the last game of the season and he’s looked good so far.
We have him, Eriksen, Moura, Alli, Son and Kane as attacking players; that’s a very good set of players most clubs would be pleased with. Get them all snapping and purring and we’ll see some excellent football this year. Really hope it happens

You’re right, minus the keeper position, our bench looked excellent on Saturday. Fitness will be key

The biggest negative is this stadium fiasco tbh. Thrown everyone for a ball of chalk hasn’t it

Major positive is players who were not available or underperforming last season being back in contention & in good form

Positives -
We're 5th without playing very well. Hopefully our usual slow start to the season will be transformed by xmas.

Lucas has looked good, Lamela may be injury free and Son is back and national service free.

Negatives -
I like Dier and Dembele but wish we had someone who passed forward quicker (more defence splitting passes) like Neves at Wolves.

Injuries. Every team gets injuries, but we seem to lose players when they are playing way above what I was expecting and they just don't seem to come back the same i.e. Wanyama, Winks and Rose. Lamela too, but thankfully it looks like he's getting back to where he was.

Oh and with respect to onfield performance, I miss Bus-Conductor's match reviews cos rightly or wrongly he always had something enlightening to say about the game. I even trot over to TFC some weeks to see how derided his thoughts are over there (sadly they appear somewhat less loved than here).

Moura has been sharp but in a pretty individualistic way. His pressing at times has been really good, but is a bit inconsistent.

Lamela has been sharp and contributed in his minutes so far.

Apart from that, slim pickings so far - win, lose, or draw and ignoring whatever the league position is. A real negative would be that tactically I think every facet is down on previous seasons. When(...) we get that right and start hitting the benchmarks again then we'll be competitive against any team we face.

I think the Inter defeat was a negative, difficult to come back from that in order to progress I feel. Maybe thats my pessimism though

The stadium fiasco is something that needs to be resolved one way or another

Positives

Positives:
Lamela- looks absolutely ready and determined. If he can stay injury free this could finally be his year.

Moura - the 6 month settling in period is reaping the benefits as we now have two quick winger types who can take players on.

The old guard of Kane, Eriksen, Vertonghen and Alli will produce the goods in time.

Negatives/concerns:

Playing style- we don’t press like we used to or have the quick wing backs that created such a great style of play in seasons past.

Central midfield- just not confident in these guys to protect the defence, be intelligent in possession or create to the level we require.

Young players breaking in - at the moment I am not sure the youngsters will be getting a shot. With a lack of signings this seemed like an opportunity.

lol there’s only 1 possible resolution - it must be finished!!

HAHA - thats true. What I meant is we either stay at Wembley or a deadline is set as a final deadline. Its too simplistic I know but think as a club we need to focus on the football and this season because we could run the risk of not getting CL in to watch in the stadium

Negatives: poor passing, slow tempo, and awful defending set pieces.
Positives: 12 points from 6 games is a decent return and we have played Man U and Liverpool already.
We have played mostly away games so we will have the majority of game left at home wherever that will be?

I'm not impressed with the movement and the lack of (appropriate) urgency in possession.

That’s what gets my goat about everyone whinging about our depth. When we can start a side as strong as that, and the likes of Sanchez, Aurier, Wanyama, Winks, Lamela and Dele were on the bench, with established experienced performers like Davies, Sissoko and Llorente (whatever you think of them, they’ve not amassed the top level international experience they have be not being useful footballers) nowhere to be seen, you have to say that we have a strong squad with plenty of options and quality.

Positives is still in touch whilst not playing well.

Negatives are not having an identity. We used to be known as a high/hard pressing team who didn’t give any team time on the ball. I don’t know what’s happened to that, I’m not sure that the players know what they are supposed to be donning either
