Can’t help but feel we all need reminding just how good things are as there are a lot of things to feel positive about and please don’t flood this with reductive talk on lack of transfers or boring levy out

Young squad who have been getting better each year, they all know how each other play and what Poch expects of them.

Our Capt & Vice Capt lifted the World Cup & Golden Boot in the summer.

Consistently finishing in the top three three seasons running

Shiny new stadium back home where we belong

Team that plays with heart, passion, creativity and a smile on their face.

Only London team in this years Champions League :woot:

I feel more connected to this squad of players than many previous squads, they deserve success and trophies but there are also 19 other teams in the league who feel they also deserve success. Nobody has a god given right to win but we have as good a chance as any.

TL : DR - Lighten up you miserable gits

At the start of the window I expected to lose Toby, Dembele and Rose.

If Dembele and Rose stay then we don't need to replace them now ( maybe January or next summer) and if Toby goes then we need to replace him or promote foyth up and another youth as back up with dier able to cover at CB.

If our squad stays fit then there wasn't many areas I was desperate for us to improve on as long as players didn't leave.

And on another note, the youth players that played in pre season have don't not too bad also!

Doesn't matter what you've done in the past, that's history, & it's what we're going to do next season that counts & currently we're in poor shape. Most of our WC players haven't even started training, we appear to be giving one of the best CB's we've had in years to a rival & we don't appear to be bringing anyone decent in to replace him & improve the squad, so be as optimistic as you want the fact is we're going into a new season way behind those we're competing against.

How do you know we are in a poor shape if it's based on what happens in the future? Unless you know what's going to happen? then you don't know how well placed we are or not just now, you just have to wait and see!

We're back to
known knowns
unknown knowns
Known unknowns
unknown unknowns
which were Donald Rumsfeld's major
and possibly only positive contribution
to world history.

Signings at least two inevitable
quality an unknown known at this stage.

Happy clappers
this is going to be your season.

I'm well down with the yoot.

Watch us slip down to midtable and then a relegation battle next season.

I'm positive about our coming season, I'm positive we will be top 7 and the stadium will be awesome but a few butt-nuggets will find fault cos nothing pleases some people more than being able to complain

Positivity?
World class stadium and perhaps the market leader in terms of going forwards in world football.
World class striker and perhaps best in his position and he os on a long term contract that sees him happy.
Fantastic players throughout the squad with age on their side.
Very well rounded manager who sees the bigger picture.
Top class training ground.

And on a personal note..
Managed to get season ticket for first time ever. Was tough to afford financially but it meant alot to be there next season.
However......

We have not progressed on the field and ultimately this is/will be our limiting factor. We will struggle to win games v the other top 6 imo and we will be THAT team that struggles to tag along with the pace setters as they power on forwards.

Of course id love nothing more to be wrong but i fear nwhl to be a place of much frustration this coming season.

I've got a good feeling we'll win the league this season, or come damn close (within a few points). It's written in the stars

Really looking forward to the season starting. We have a world cup winner and a lot of young players with extra intrnational experience.

Looking at our squad I feel we are strong in all areas.

GK: Lloris, Vorm Gazzaniga
FBs: Trippier, Rose, KWP, Aurier, Davies
CBs: Vertonghen, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Foyth
CMs: Dembele, Wanyama, Dier, Winks, Sissoko
AMs: Alli, Eriksen, Son, Lamela, Moura
STs: Kane, Llorente

Then we have young players hoping to make an impact.

If we lose Alderweireld or another player I feel we are still strong with cover anyway. We have a young, improving team.

If mcguire is worth £60-80 million for winning against Panama, Tunisia and an awful Sweden, we really should be holding out for all the money in the world for Toby. That's positive isn't it.

Seriously? Maguire is younger and HG. It's not that he just played a couple of games at the WC.

Title of the thread is positivity so although I can't see anyway the team will win the league I will be more than happy with another finish in top four which maybe an achievement in itself this year.

Before the wc you'd have been an idiot if you spent £20m on him. He's rose potentially £60m for winning against pish, and of course when up against anyone that can kick a ball they were all defeats. His price is 100%on that wc. I have to laugh. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a weaker utd and one that dents their bank balance.
