Agree with all of that. The more I read about Grealish, the more keen I was on us signing him.
I hope its one we don't look back on in time and really regret not closing out as the boy definitely has a rare talent - saw him live in the Villa/Fulham play off final and he was the best player on the pitch by a long way.

I hope so but I think that our squad needed some freshening up - especially in attack, which also keeps the incumbents on their toes. We are now relying a lot of those names getting back fully fit, and some of the younger players stepping up and quickly becoming the types of players we all hope they can be.

I heard that he was decent on Monday too.

F**k it, I’m tottenham till I die.

New stadium and still our best players are with us.

Hopefully a couple of deadwood will move on/ get loaned out.

Levy must owe Poch now so maybe Jan/next summer some real money spent

1 positive i guess is that youth players and those on the fringe of the 1st team already at the club will get a chance this season.

Didn't lose any players of note so chances are similiar to last season.

There are too many things required to really help me feel positive about things after this window. If the following occurred though I'd feel ok and genuinely think we'd probably get CL again.

1) Toby stays, signs contract and is part of Pochs plans
2) Rose stays
3) Wanyama shakes off his injury issues
4) Winks shakes off his injury issues
5) Lamela shakes off his injury issues
6) Lucas has a good second season
7) Dembele sees out contract remaining relatively fit thus keeping squad depth

I still think Toby and Dembele might get sold before the window closes for the rest of Europe... Which is fine with me. I rather both play in a different league.

Think the best thing for us is we kept hold of Kane and Eriksen. Both were massive in the World Cup.

Really think if we retain our CL spot, it's really gonna prove to the world that you don't need to pay crazy prices to get the job done.

Chelsea have a whole new midfield with Jorginho and Kovacic, new manager which usually improves them for a season. We finished above them last season but that's partly because the players were unhappy with Conte and there was the usual Chelsea drama.

I see us fighting for 4th with Man Utd and Arsenal. Only positive I can think of is that we're going to be playing in the new stadium and not at Wembley.

Just after the world cup i rewatched our game against Madrid. The quality of football we offered seemed a light year ahead of what England had been dishing up. We looked fucking magnificent.

AND We have the same team going into this season, Harry, Eriksen, Jan, Hugo etc etc. Yay. Beautful footballers at the top of their game.

Stop shitting your pants. Its a massive fallacy that every team improves every time they open their cheque book, if they did every side ever would be exponentially better than they were 10 years ago. Clearly not the case.

You're spot on, i feel we're in the massive minority thinking along these lines.
Coming into the window, i expected nothing, the fact we've come out of the other side with Kane and Poch both signing new deals, with hopefully more to follow, and also keeping hold of every one of our best players, is a massive positive imo.

Don't get me wrong, a signing or two would've been nice, but it seems under our owners a realistic push for the title is always going to be slightly out of our reach....and right now i'm fine with that.

I think all the talk of 150million, massive spending sprees was taken as fact rather than with a pinch of salt as it should have been. We will never 'buy' the title or throw money at it. Its not how we operate and never will.

I think in many respects we have reached critical mass in terms of playing staff quality with our model, very few players in world football would improve our first team noticably, and they are in the realms of a very select number of clubs. That we have maintained ALL the stars we have at all is a small miracle.

Well I for one, enjoyed the 2014/15 season more than any other in recent memory.

Fresh season, fresh start, young players from the academy showing their love of the game and the club.

If the club is saying youth is going to be given a chance and they follow through (big if); well I look forward to it.

This is just it, under Enic i think we've just about hit our peak....they're never going to go out and start spunking 70-80m on a player, and thats what it would realistically take to improve our starting 11.
A lot of people just struggle to accept that.
Even if we'd signed Grealish i dont think he'd even make the starting 11, he's hardly going to make up the 25? point difference between us and City.

Agree that's why I can't believe anyone thought we would spend in excess of 150m on incomings if we had then all of us would be more confident but it was never going to happen ever.
I will admit to being a bit fucked off with signing fuck all and yes I have taken shit from text messages of gooners , hammers and Chelsea shits because of the lack of activity.
However I'm not surprised but today has certainly altered my aspirations for this year and so if we achieve top six then we have done well and as for cups forget it.
The team needs our support otherwise if we lose a couple of games the crowd may turn ugly give levy shit and the team loses confidence and we are back to the bad old day's and no one wants that.
