Yeah agreed, lets see where we're at closer to kick off. If we can get another 2 or 3 then I'm still up for it though.

ok there are 9 members of the home game but only 4 in the tournament. If there aren't any more by 645 I'm going to cancel it and we can rearrange ok?

I'd say wait a little while longer. People often register for these things last minute. I'm happy to play 6-Max but if others don't like that type of game then happy to go with the majority.

Hey Guys,

How did this go? I wanted to play but could not do it yesterday, would be really interested to hear the results!

As for the poker HUD software does anyone know any good ones for Mac?

I play quite a bit of play money and i'm pretty decent, I know that means sweet fa but I mean in terms of reading people's hands by the way they play.

I've never been much of a gambler though although I don't see poker as gambling really, well it is but there is a real strategy involved and i'd imagine if I stuck to low stakes tables and didn't get carried away I could make a little cash here and there.

What software do you guys use by the way?

Sensible, although you will find a difference between play money and say micro stakes I would imagine. Some very good players at all levels, including the micros.

I play on Pokerstars for tournaments and a site called Betsson (similar to Betfair) for cash games, softer opponents then on Stars where the average standard is quite high.

I use Pokertracker 4 as a HUD and swear by it.

Yes i'm sure there are some good players at micro level. I'm intrigued by the standards on each site actually now you mention it. I've only ever used Pokerstars myself.

After a little research I did a while back whilst considering taking it up I thought holdem manager looked a good one. Anybody use Pokerstove? I've found that very handy in the past. It's not a hud it just figures out odds and with my maths being a bit crap it's massively helped me. Totally free too if anybody doesn't know about it, although i'm sure most of you do.

Yeah I've got Pokerstove, a must have. Normally, sites that mainly offer sports betting but have poker on the side are quite soft, like William Hill, Betfair etc. Dedicated poker sites (Full Tilt and PokerStars) tend to be tougher. Party Poker is somewhere in the middle.

Bet 365 runs very easy double or nothing tournaments which are a good way to boost your bankroll when you start out. The more comfortable you get with real money play though, the more you should be aiming to finish top 2 in a regular sng and take a bigger share of the pot.
