Tottenham's assistant manager Gus Poyet on Kaboul staying at home:

"It's not a fall-out, or anything like that.
"Sometimes it's better to leave a player at home and train. It's nothing else.
"We don't have a good number of other defenders so maybe we will play him again very soon.

Spurs head coach Juande Ramos:

"As a trainer I always set out to win every game I play, independent of the opposition or the competition.

"I like attacking football, but it's fundamental they are supported by the defence to get good results.
"The best form of defence is attack, that is the philosophy we are trying to implement and, hopefully, we will do it against Anderlecht."

I hope the hightlighted comment has been lost in translation, because surely our best form of attack should be defense at the moment?!

He cant defend at all, lets not pin any hope on holding out at the back.

There was something in one of the papers (not sure if its a London regional paper or just and English but there was something in there about Ramos wantint to drop Kaboul

i didn't realy read it as i didn't have the time.

cant understand it to be honest. Yeah I know he has been having a mare but this will just smash his confidence to pieces. We ve got hardly any fit centre halfs and I ve just read a quote from Ramos stated the belgiums are dangerous on set-pieces, if we had all our centre halfs fit then I would agree with him, and if he thinks Chimbonda is a better centre back than Kaboul then it looks like it could be the end for him Kaboul at the Lane

I have also that philosophy. The best defence is to attack. When we had Jol in charge, he was talking about protecting a lead, and that was simply the reason why he had to go. We lost so many points because of that philosophy. I like Ramos' way of thinking offensive. He will succeed if he really help the team to play like that.
