I thought it would be good to have a thread where pre-season could be discussed. If you dont feel it is needed as there is discussion on pre-season in the "when are the players due..."-thread, please feel free to merge them.

Back to topic, I have been looking at the pictures from pre-season, and I haven´t seen Pritchard or Milos in the pictures. Those are two players I have high hopes for and thought they would be spending pre-season with the first team. Is it just that I have missed them, or does anyone know anything about their inclusion in pre-season?

I loved it that I saw Soldado laughing and seemed to be getting on with everyone, and that Ade attended at least one pre season training with us!

I'm encouraged by the smiles. But even more so by the sight of Erik Lamela, particularly on instagram with Soldado and Sandro. Team moral seems to be on the up.

I'm a little worried about their only being 5 pre-season games for the senior team, I was hoping there would be closer to 6-7-8 pre season games, just so our team can be confident going into next season that Poch's tactics will work against top quality opposition. In terms of quality, our toughest game will be against Schalke, I fear some of the boys will treat the away games at the MLS sides like a holiday, and playing Celtic in Finland hardly gets the blood pumping either. When you consider 'Pool face both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in their pre-season you start to worry we're not adequately preparing or testing ourselves. 5 games before West Ham away? West Ham away is a big game! We are desperate to win that one and kick off Poch's reign with a bang, if we win that we can start to forget the horrible experiences of last season.

Saying that I have faith in Poch and his team to rightfully prepare the team, I just think it would be better for the team and the fans to play more games. So Poch can really experiment and get a feel for his new team.

I still believe that there is so much talent in that squad. Hopefully Poch and co can infuse so much belief and confidence that we will be able to see the real football in the players available and deliver a fantastic season for us. COYS

I wouldn't be surprised if we did a load of pre-season games behind closed doors, and a few announced at the last minute at places such as MK Dons like we have done previously.

It's one of those tricky ones I find though where if you play to many games, such as that silly cup we entered last year, you run the risk of more pointless injuries such as the one to Vertonghen last time. But I agree about facing harder opposition.

Whats the story with Benny, anyone know?

I know he is out of favour, but this is getting ridiculous! Can't have a player like him knocking about being ignored, while having a massive problem at Left Back and just pretending he doesn't exist!

Don't worry there will be Spurs XI matches against the likes of Colchester and Chelmsford like last year, they just don't announce them all with the main fixtures.

Just saw bobby and Eric in traffic near hotspur way ...Eric was showing bobby something on his phone... They were both in hysterics, was nice to see.
Regardless I don't think these poch preseason sessions are quite the 'hell' I've read about.

If you're wondering why he hasn't been in training, he's probably on a World Cup break and due back in a couple of weeks with the rest. If you just meant in general, yeah I agree. I think he should/will get a fresh chance with Poch but could just end up in the same situation.

I meant in general. The WC players get a bit of extra time, but the ones who were knocked out in the group stages should be reporting to work shortly i'd imagine

I saw something about World Cup players having 3 weeks off after they are eliminated. Seems too long to me but there you go.

You call getting 3 weeks break from your job per year excessive?

It is when you're a premiership footballer, go into training for a few hours, you have the rest of the day free.
It's like one long holiday, that's why some of the footballers get themselves in trouble, they don't know what do with their time off.
